1. When Dick witnesses his parents’ death, beneath the circus tent, Bruce is there, in the audience. Rage and sorrow overwhelms the man, along with the memories of his own parents’ death and Batman swears that he’ll take the murderer. Later, when Bruce meets Dick in the Graysons’ trailer, he hugs the kid tightly. He knows, for experience, that a hug is what Dick needs most at the moment.
2. The first time Bruce is awoken by Dick’s screaming, he knows that the kid is experiencing phase two of his shocking, sudden orphanhood: nightmares. So he goes to the kid’s room (right beside his own), hugs him tightly - like the first night they met - and rocks him gently while Dick weeps over his shoulder. Bruce promises the kid that it would get better. It did.
3. The day Bruce fires Dick, after a very bad fight, Bruce believes he has lost him forever. Dick leaves the Manor without a word and just disappears. So, two nights later, when Dick shows up at his side, still in his Robin costume, Bruce is so surprised that words fail him.  All he can manage to do is hug Dick, wishing him welcome back.
4. (Obsidian Age) When Batman comes back from death, after the hunt for Aquaman, Dick  is so relieved to see him alive that reaches forward and just hugs Bruce in front of all the Justice League.  And keeps hugging him, despite Bruce’s complaints, ‘till he feels Batman’s arms surround him, returning the hug.
5. (Infinite Crisis) When Batman hears Nightwing warning him to look out, it’s late already. Dick has taken the energy blast in his place and lies motionless on the ground, with Robin calling out his name in vain. Bruce feels empty and numb, he is aware he can’t stand another  loss and Dick’s no less. He kneels down, mechanically, beside the fallen hero and, when Dick opens his eyes, in pain, and tries to reach out with one hand, Bruce takes him in his arms, and hugs him gently, vowing to himself that he’ll never allow anybody else to hurt his lover.
