Wow, so its been 6 months.
I kept meaning to post and then things piled up and then more things and then things and...
So, to sum up the last several bits of time thingy:
-Was sick.
-2 week summer school in Public Economics - interesting.
-Writing stuff for work.
-Writing part of quarterly inflation report - yay work, grrr publication dept.
-Sick
-Working on research paper for the bank.
-went to K's Choice show on the way to the airport to France. Was awesome.
-5 days in Strasbourg, France with Shear - Went for a 2 day conference, stayed for the weekend. Nice city, excellent cheeses, good conference. Nice semi-vacation but short. Very grown up-feeling. I bought a suit for it and shook hands and said my name and discussed things with serious people who seemed to think I was a serious person too. Pretty cool.
-High holidays + Icon. The holidays were crazy busy, the con (well one of the 2 competing cons) was better then its been in a few years.
-Sick
-Conference on Energy, Israel, Business and the future. Bottom line: Israel will be a natural gas superpower. Or not.
-Much more work on research paper. Regressions. Literature. More regressions. Endogeneity. Hausman test. Unit root. Fisher test. VAR. PVAR. Helmert correction. Choleski decomposition. (wow, this all sounds far too medical suddenly. all tests and disease sounding things) Writing the paper, which is one of the more unpleasant parts. Give me data and I'll slice it, dice it and make it sing. Let me figure out a problem. But why do I have to write 40 pages explaining it?
-Finished paper.
-Presented paper to the department. Typically aggressive seminar but we did ok. Lots of stupid questions, several insightful ones and a few that were actually original and useful comments.
-All of this interspersed with very very much reading stuff for work and a bunch of writing and analyzing as well.
Sometime in the next month or 2: more writing. see Batya+Alex. take short vacation. turn 34. think of idea for transportation paper, research and write it. work on quarterly report and annual report.
breath.
How are y'all?
