She looked at the letters on the paper in front of her. Her eyes followed the words with tired eyes, knowing that these were the things that she wanted to say, but never would.
"Anomolay Jones is better off dead"
It's true, she is. She was never able to accept this world around us and lived in a bubble of innocence that should be reserved for children and the simple minded. We are to blame for her death. Each and every one of us who allowed her to live in that fantasy. Each and every one of us who refused to wield the pin that would burst that bubble. Each and every one of us who refused to take on the responsibility of educating her and helping her see the truth. WE are responsible for her death.
We allowed her to live in a world where her knight in shining armor was a man incapable of emotions and all he could do was mimic them. We enabled her delusions, each and every one of us who turned their backs and said, "Not me. No. I will not be the one to do that to her." WE are the authors of her sad tragedy.
Anomolay's world was destroyed when David died. She sought solace in alcohol, tobacco and solitary confinement. She attempted suicide and failed. When her mind could handle the loss of her world no longer, it created it anew in her mind. Fresh and unsoiled.
She died secure in the belief that her husband and her son were alive and that all was right with the world. In the tempest that has become our lives...how could take that away from her.
She died happy.
Anomolay Jones is better off dead.
