happy new year.

and on that note, I firmly believe after much thought that people really just made up time. or at least the way we measure it. the western calender is based on the birth of jesus, who really was born in april or something. 365 days in a year is as far as I know or can figure a random number. why not 100? why not 1000? consider calenders of other people, the chinese or the jews--they have completely different calenders. why is ours so celebrated? I can only guess its because of the west's domination of the market and therefore the world.... though I still think china is going to take over.

in any case I had a good one. I went to Dana's and we played games, I got drunk, and the new years sparkle ball dropped. quiet, but appropriate I think. I really don't enjoy big parties where I don't know everyone, I usually end up somehow being talked to by people who are anoying and not the people whom I think may not be. this way I know no one is anoying, and thats just fine.

another thing, cheers to Jessie, who got married. I'm sorry I couldn't come but there is no money anywhere in sight. Dana and I toasted to you. I hope you're happy!

I'm going to bed now. I have new years day lunch/dinner/something with stevens family tomorrow, and then work. eewww work. I don't like it. blegh.

everyone go read The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
