:) Northern Exposure was a great series and House as the grizzled bush pilot is a natural! (I must admit I was half expecting the plane to crash and our heroes to be stuck in the wilderness in this :) And Tucker died - I wonder what made the difference in this AU that led to that decision rather than the one Wilson made in canon? And of course Wilson feels guilty for it. And now I want to know what House's story is - hopefully there will be another medical emergency some time soon.....

:D

What's interesting is that the first decision Wilson made in canon was not to do the transplant. It wasn't until after Tucker guilt-tripped him kept after him that Wilson thought it over and changed his mind. So maybe in this 'verse, Wilson walked away before Tucker started talking? Or he did go to Cuddy for permission, but she denied it? I think either option is valid, given that in this Wilson's universe, House was never there.

... hopefully there will be another medical emergency some time soon.....

I am not promising anything, but I will say that this ficverse is still talking. *g* ♥

Another possible reason for Wilson saying no in this universe: he hadn't had the years of conditioning from House to give in on a friend's request no matter how outlandish. Of course Wilson's basic personality is to give in to others' requests ("you love everybody; that's your pathology") but we know House took advantage of that consistently (how did that text from House go? something like "what I need is more important than whatever you're doing now" during Wilson's working hours as a doctor).

But in this 'verse, without conditioning from House, Wilson still gave the crazy chemo treatment...

I must say, the squee sounds I make when you post a new fic are embarrassing.

Lovely, as always. You have such a wonderful way of painting a picture; I can see the places and hear the OC's so clearly. And House and Wilson, even in AU, are always them. Some little things I loved: Wilson's "Oh!" reaction to the bear jerky (I don't know why, it just made me lol), and House's plane looking like his canon flame cane. :)

I hope you'll write more in this 'verse!

The squee sounds I make when I see you've posted a new fic are beyond the range of human hearing and can be detected only by dogs and bats.* IT'S TRUE. :D

Thank you so much for reading! And yes, I think there might be at least one more story in this 'verse. ♥

*But I don't always comment! Which is Bad. But I'll try and do better. *g*

I'm always so happy to see new fic from you. House as a pilot isn't an idea I'd ever have had, yet it works superbly, and I have to wonder how a simply pilot knows so much medicine. I like that Wilson didn't donate to Tucker. I wonder what the other differences are, if this Wilson ever met Amber since there was no House to drag her into his path.

I want so much more of this 'verse.

That's an interesting point about Amber! It's always possible she came to work at PPTH on her own, but then I wonder if a teaching hospital would've been her first choice. She might have preferred a bigger, more well-known stage, like Cedars-Sinai or the Mayo Clinic or Brigham and Women's in Boston.

I think there may be another story in this 'verse. I seem to have possibly kickstarted myself. :D

I saw you'd mentioned the ficverse was still talking to you above, otherwise I would have kept wanting more to myself. However in my excitement I failed to mention how much I enjoyed this story. I'll rectify that right now: I loved this story.

I can see Amber at someplace big and famous. That sounds like something she would want.

I like this a lot, hope we see more, and I love the St. James Infirmary reference. :)
