I'm still burning through radioactive probes like mad, trying to get little pieces of DNA to move slightly on a little gel when a protein attaches itself on to them. Actually, it's not so hard to take a piece of DNA and figure out that something binds to the darn thing - the problem is really figuring out what the hell that something is. Meanwhile, I'm spending more and more time at work and less and less time at home. I swear, the last time I didn't go to work 7 days a week for at least 4 hours a day (minimum 9 hours on weekdays, 4 on weekends) was sometime in February. Oh wait, I did go to work for only 2 hours last Sunday, because I was exhausted and starting falling asleep while sitting at my desk analyzing data. At least it wasn't in the 'radioactive room' handling some dangerous isotopes.
Coffee consumption has increased, as well as the consumption of caffeinated sodas. Can't be helped - I can't function on 6 hours of sleep without help. So far, no major side effects of the caffeine re-introduction into my system... I had gone coffee free from December - February. It's so interesting how easily you can pick that stuff up again.
Oh, by the way, if you need anyone to perform a wedding, baptism or funeral, I can oblige. As of yesterday I am an official member of the clergy.
No joke.
