to my dearest elfscouts writer

First off, hello! I'd like to thank you so much for taking the time to write something for me, as exchanges can take up a lot of time and effort, and for putting my thoughts and preferences into consideration. As the one with all the creative power, feel free to mix and match, tweak, alter, tear apart and reconstruct everything as you like. I'm pretty easy to please, so as long as you're satisfied with the product, I will be too. ^^

✩ THINGS I LIKE:

→ AUs!! I fall absolutely VICTIM for a good AU, especially those with compelling and ambiguous concepts. Some AUs I like are: a/b/o, apocalypse, angels/demons, big robots (e.g. Pacific Rim, NGE), dystopia, horror, mafia/gangs, models, reincarnation, soulmates, time travel/time control, urban fantasy, etc. I'm not too keen on canon verse or anything that's too domestic or mundane (strictly office AUs, coffee shop AUs, so on), but otherwise, do whatever your heart desires;;

→ Angst. All the goddamn angst. The kind of angst that shakes you to the core. Not the kind of angst that's there for the sake of being angst, but there with purpose. I love some good fluff too, but I prefer it if it isn't too predominant.

→ Character death (yeah, I'm one of those people), so long as it's not used for shock and done right. That applies for subjects such as abuse or any mental illnesses/disorders as well because they're commonly romanticized. I'm totally okay with them when handled the proper way, so as long as you're careful, it's all good.

→ Characters and their relationship dynamics are the absolute MOST important thing to me, because the psyche and complexity of a character is what makes the whole experience, so character/relationship study and lots of introspection would be amaaaaaazing. HURT/COMFORT ALSO MAKES ME WEAAAAAAAAK.

→ Self-discovery?? And themes in regard to self love and understanding.

→ Themes regarding divinity and existence (i.e. the purpose of life). The philosophical stuff.

→ Metaphors and feelings and stuff, because I'm a sap.

→ Inverted tropes, or anything that's generally unconventional.

→ Porn, lmao. Smut's great, sex is great. Go grazy if you're up for it.

→ Some tropes/little things I hold close to my heart: FOREHEAD TOUCHING???, just general physical contact, hurt/comfort, fake dating, accidental mishaps, philosophical assholes, art and artists, pining, best friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, miscommunication

✕ THINGS I DON'T LIKE:

→ As listed in my squicks, non-con and mpreg are a definite no for me.

→ I'm pretty easy when it comes to kinks, but I can't read anything on the more extreme side of the spectrum (e.g. watersports, vore, etc. though I doubt there would be anything of the sort anyway)

→ Large age gaps.

→ Heteronormativity :(

→ Epithets, which is just a small issue that bothers me, but it just makes it more difficult for me as a reader.

As for what I'd like to read in particular, I think it's always best to write something you want to write, so if you've got any ideas floating around, by all means, please do go for it;; But in the case that you're in need of inspiration and want a push, here's a list of prompts:

1. Raye - I, U, Us
2. Alina Baraz & Galimatias - Can I
3. Slip Into Your Skin - Patrick Watson
4. Child's Play - SZA
5. This playlist.
6. The Lesson of the Moth by Don Marquis
7. Advice from Dionysus by Shinji Moon
8. This poem by notbecauseofvictories
9. Mercury's winged feet.
10. "Remember how the BFG had dreams he kept in bottles on shelves?"
11. Anything having to do with the WINGS videos and its concepts because I adooooore everything about the recent comeback.

I hope these are helpful, and I wish you luck on writing!
