Joe and I are completely moved in, and I made it through my first week as an eighth grade science teacher for Williams Middle School. Living in an apartment with your boyfriend is an interesting experience. At the very least, it's drastically different from living with my folks. For example, I don't think I ever watched so much sports-tv in my entire life at home. Here, it's a constant.
Though I'm enjoying my new surroundings, I can't help feeling a little homesick every now and then. I miss my friends, and being able to host weekly volleyball games. I also miss my dad and sisters a lot. Having no friends in a new town (except the person you live with) can be tough, though Joe and I are doing well both as roommates and as a support system. It helps that Spunky has pretty much adopted Joe as his new human.
It's also nice to have a gym and tennis courts within walking distance.
The U.S. Open final is next weekend, so Joe and I are off to NY on Friday afternoon for a weekend vacation. I'm hoping to see an American in the final (Agassi or Blake?), probably against Federer.
After next weekend, I'm thinking it might be time for people to come up and visit. Any takers?
