Summary: Harry has discovered the secrets buried deep within the Internet and his fascination draws the attention of the man everyone is talking about.
A/N: This is just a funny little drabble that looks into what Harry and Snape's reactions might be if they ever came across our LJ posts.
“Are you still wasting away in front of that infernal machine?”
“It is called a Mac, Sev. Get with the times… all the muggles use them.”
“And why would I care as such?”
Sighing and rolling his eyes, Harry tried once more to focus on the screen before him. He’d purchased the lap top just days ago, and though Severus adamantly shouted his indifference and disgust towards the “machine”, Harry knew better. He’d noticed how Severus slinked about, eyeing the large screen and empty box.
Even as he sat there, Harry could feel Sev’s presence just over his right shoulder.
___________
“Severus Snape is the sexiest Hogwart’s professor,” Severus read aloud.
“No, no, no, you absolutely do not need to see this.” Startled, Harry tried to shut the screen, only to have it jerked from his hands. “Sev, listen, let me explain…”
“If I went to Hogwarts, I would spend every night in detention,” he continued, his eyes fixed on the glowing monitor. “Snarry is my OTP.”
“What in the bloody hell is a Snarry?!”
Harry shrugged a bit, trying to play off the fact that his partner was seething mad.
“It stands for Snape and Harry… like, yah’know… a couple.”
__________
Harry watched a multitude of emotions pass across Severus’ face. First embarrassment, which brought a sallow pink hue to his cheeks. Next there was anger, then frustration and lastly bitter disappointment.
“Potter, would you care to explain why our names are spliced together in such a way and what in the ruddy bugger-all this machine has to do with it?”
“The machine is a computer, Sev. It can connect to people all over the world using a tool called the Internet.” Harry felt a red hot blush creep across his neck at the thought of what he would say next.
_________
“And our names are together because there are people out there who support us, um, they write about us.”
Severus focused his eyes on the screen once more, taking time to read the words that appeared there. Once finished, he calmly handed the computer to Harry and stood, unblinking, as he gathered his thoughts.
“You do realize this propaganda, this cult of personality, is truly absurd, don’t you?”
Allowing his head to fall forward, Harry lowered his gaze in shame.
“All though that last bit, listed under the reference heading of Live Journal… well that could be fun to try.”
___________
Hours later Harry sank into the bed, his body completely spent.
“So what do you make of that machine now, Professor?” He asked playfully.
“I think any muggle who dares to write such rubbish about two people they hardly know is a waste of breathable air.”
Harry waited, silent, watching those dark eyes shift as a wicked grin spread slowly across his lover’s face.
“I also think they have incredible taste,” he murmured, pinning a helpless Harry down to the bed. “Let us now continue on to post 394.”
“I believe it called for firm restraints and a blindfold, yes?”
