wow, yeah, you did it, and amazingly so!

I'm intrigued by the way you worked some prompts, and I'm rendered speechless by the beauty of a story told with the bare essentials and maybe because of this so touching

thank you for sharing this

This is gorgeous. I don't know how you get lush and spare at the same time, but you did. And the flow, the movement of it is so perfect.

Also, the little girl just breaks my heart--you captured her so well, in just two or three lines, I was already attached...

Thank you so much! What a perfect compliment, considering that my writing goal is always working towards a mix of evocative and economical. It's wonderful to know that my work is paying off. Thank you again!

Unfortunately, I can never leave well enough alone, can I?

:D Well, it would have been a totally different story if she'd lived. An excellent story, in the right hands, but not this story. I love this story just the way it is.

I don't what it is about you and making post-apocalyptic nightmares appealing but it's quite a gift. This is just lovely. A lot heartbreaking, a little bit hopeful and, naturally, a dash of nnnnnnnnnngh. Excellent! :D

I just re-read this and I think it might be even more amazing the second fifth time through. Especially that last sentence. MY HEART! ♥
