Journeys: Epilogue )
::giggles:: Well, that explains a lot!
Drunken teamy goodness is so DELICIOUS. :) And you MUST write your version of Affinity with Teal'c and Daniel sharing that apartment! And hey, add Avatar in there, too...
Jonas and Jacquie, awww! And I'm kinda sorry that you took the much more realistic route to short-circuit Sam and Pete, even if it makes a lot of sense.
"Is Anubis really gone?" Jonas said a moment later.
"Yep," Jack said.
"Are we sure?"
"Nope," Daniel said.
That had me snickering. :)
"It gets McKay out of our galaxy," Jack pointed out.
Hee! The real reason Jack cleared McKay! And such a lovely conversation between Jack and Daniel, too.
"Look, we can't get back what you lost, but we can do our best with something new."
Awwww.
Jonas and Daniel did Evolution together? They sent TWO ALIENS to Honduras? You do know you're teasing us with this, don't you? I want the story!
"You look constipated," Daniel said. "You're about to impart wisdom, aren't you?" ::grins::
"If you guys mutiny, I'll fire you," he said, though he knew if there were to be any sort of mutiny at the SGC that involved these people, he'd probably be in on it.
So. Perfectly. Them!
Jack stuck his hands in his pockets and watched them weave around each other as they tied their shoes, tossed keys to each other, finished each other's thoughts, and then simultaneously reached the door, somehow managing smoothly not to get tangled up as they started out of his house. "See you, kids," Jack said, raising a hand.
And awwwww again!
This is such a happy, satisfying epilogue. Thanks for assuring us that Daniel is still Daniel. It's been a great ride!

Since Daniel doesn't have his own house/apartment in this AU, "Chimera" wouldn't have happened, and all Pete's stalking would have done is...well, I guess it was just stalking in vain, then. He's back in the current "Affinty" draft, though (and Daniel and Jonas's trip to Honduras is sort of a minor plot point there, too, hehe) :)
Happy epilogues don't seem to be my thing. I'm glad this one came out okay :) Thanks for all your comments!

It occurs to me that you might consider doing one-offs - not an entire novel, but the occasional individual ep set in this AU where past changes strongly affect how the story will go. Just for fun, hint hint. :)
