What a great chapter! It was great to see Daniel getting it all sorted out, and see his thoughts about such a wide variety of things, including airports and academia. I feel like I just got to know this Daniel much better!

I'm glad you liked it. It felt like an odd chapter to me, what with the different POVs, but I guess there are parts of a personality that are more easily seen through an outsider's eyes :)

Thanks!

“Brothers in books?” Daniel Jackson suggested.

“Perhaps you should not think so hard,” Teal’c amended.

::grins::

Wow, the difference on Vyus without Linnea! Could you refresh my memory? Did you skip Prisoners altogether, or was it Daniel's absence on the team that meant they came back without her?

“Well, I don’t. Leave it alone.” So Jack backed off that point, but then Daniel repeated, “No, really, leave it alone, Jack,” and Jack realized he’d taken Daniel’s orange.

Bwah! Love this - Daniel moving on to something else, and Jack not realizing it!

Also, love that your Daniel is pragmatic enough to use MacKenzie like this. I LOVE how you're flaunting fanon here!

OTOH, you are MEAN to not let Daniel get onto SG-1, again. On the other other hand, the idea of the team going to Netu without him is downright scary, because Daniel played a little too big a part in getting them off the planet, and... and... you're posting the next part today, right? :)

About Vyus/Linnea--in the beginning of "Prisoners" (the episode), adult!Daniel is the one who's protesting and delaying their return to the SGC when the guy flees Taldor and runs into them. Granted, it wasn't like an hour's delay and not his fault, per se, so it might have happened anyway, but in my AU, I'm saying Carter and Teal'c turned around and went home when Jack said to, and it never happened.

Ah, Netu. I really wanted Daniel to go to 'Hell' with them, but practically, would they have taken him on a covert, search-and-rescue/intel-gathering trip if they don't allow him in battle situations yet? I thought really hard to find ways around that... :)

Thanks!

Which was bizarre, when you thought about it, because who left depressed teenagers to the mercy of a combat team?

His job was weird.

It paid well, though, and the world got saved once in a while, which was always nice.

Robert is awesome.

Robert wasn't particularly interested in losing track of Daniel, anyway; someone would kill him.

I love his thought processes.
