Fic meme

I think this is the first time ever that I've posted anything that wasn't a chapter of a story or something like that. Then again, it's a list of fics, so maybe that counts. It's not even like I have a lot of stories from which to choose, but, well, here goes anyway.

Post a list of your top five fic-favorites you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most.

1. (SG1) Translations: Because this was what got me really into the fandom side of Stargate, and because I was actually pretty proud of the finished product. I'd written one AU novel before (Supernatural), but not one as thought-out as this.

2. (SPN) There'll Be Peace When You Are Done: This was one of my shortest and about a character I don't really like much (John Winchester), but somehow, I think it's probably the most coherent and best written of any of my Supernatural fics.

3. (SPN) Something To Believe In: If you judge by number of reviews, this wasn't as well liked as some of my other things, but the idea of belief, whether in a deity or in a person or in mathematics or in anything else, is really important to me. It's one reason why I was so fascinated with Stargate, with their villainous Goa'uld who defile and twist faith. Also, I agonized over the title so much, trying to make it not end in a preposition without its sounding stupid, that I thought it deserved to be mentioned, just for that.

4. (SG1) Diplomacy: Yeah, I know, it's not even fully out yet, but honestly, this is my favorite (and only this far down because it's not done yet). It's not even for the plot so much as for the writing. I like playing with words and phrases, mixing and matching mythology, and exploring themes and character traumas that the show isn't able to explore.

5. (SPN) Prodigal: Again, this one is not particularly popular (even by my standards), is pretty short, and is perhaps not even one of my favorites. I like it because it was an experiment in writing (experimental by my normally convervative standards), and I had a lot of fun spitting the lines out.
