Bathing in sunlight

There's something quite innocent about seeing my dog laying in the sunlight as it pours through my windows and onto the carpet. Usually he (the smaller one, Tobie) just causes mischief with the assistance Albert (the bigger one... yes we're learning aren't we?).

Allow me to elaborate on the nuisance they often cause to me. Albert and his quite large head starts by opening the sliding back door of my parents' house. The stage is set. He steps in and there comes Tobie in heel. They head towards the kitchen. Tobie and his small paws somehow find a way to open the small door to where the trash can is. Once they have reached this point, Albert somehow pulls said trash can out of the small under-counter space and then proceeds to tip it over. And the spoils (typically consisting of newspapers, some empty cereal boxes on occasion, a bit of bread, and napkins). Albert has a fixation with napkins and tissues... He tears them up, chews on them, but never quite eats them.

THese two are a tag team, despite the fact that Tobie is constantly barking at Albert when he's getting attention.

These two comrades have somehow found a way to open my door to my apartment in the back. WHich is a bit harder to do than a sliding glass door because it is just a door (and a rather hard to open one at that). I don't know how they turn the handle, but if I didn't lock the door at least half of the time I return to an open door and an overturned garbage can that once may have had food scraps inside.

So what thoughts could be prancing around in the mind of the now prematurely graying Tobie as he lays on the carpet with his face in the streak of sunlight.  I'm  sure Albert is in the yard laying in a pile of sand on his side as is typical to his routine.

And seconds after I shout for Albert in no particular direction, he appears.  Tobie growls a bit... Then moves and Albert goes back outside to undoubtedly return to his favorite spot at this time of the day.

Well that is the end of this quite pointless but very curious and childish-like post.  I mean, honestly, who writes about their dogs' antics these days...
