Everyday Minerals

My Everyday Minerals samples arrived today!!! \(^0^)/

And I think I'm in total love. But I am getting ahead of myself.

I placed my order for one of their free sample makeup kits on 22 Sept, so the shipment took the standard shipping time to Australia from their Austin, Texas location. Thumbs up for speedy shipping!

For my 3 foundation selections, I choose the semi-matte formulation, due to my oily skin. Semi-matte is advertised as being a soft luminous touch, so I'd like to see how it holds up during the course of a work day, while I do a bit of running around and with summer fast approaching, this will be a true test of the foundation's staying power. The texture and weight of the powders are so deliciously light and soft, nothing like the liquid and cream foundations I've used and they're easy to apply with a soft brush. There's no need for sponges. Yay!

The colours are unfortunately not the same onscreen as they are in person (which might be my laptop's problem), but I did get lucky with the colours. I got Beige-Light Tan, Olive-Olive Medium and Golden-Light. Olive Medium is unfortunately too yellow and has almost a green tinge, so I might not select another sample from the Olive suite. Beige-Light Tan and Golden-Light are better matches for my skin tone, with Beige-Light Tan being the closest.

The multitasking concealer is unfortunately too fair for me and leaves an almost white patch on the application area, so I might have to keep experimenting with it or try some other concealer shade.

For the blush, I got their Everyday bronzer from their Lucent suite and this is an absolute star! The colour, which can be described as a rich brick red with a hint of pretty terra cotta compliments my skintone and so little goes such a long way to give a pop of colour.

Now to do the crazy thing and work out what I want in my next set of free samples (and other stuff). (^___^)
