Ryo feels that it's necessary for him to always give philosophical answers when it comes to monumental concerts like this. He is the Sexy Osaka Man after all, and that warrants that he beats his fellow NEWS members with their interviews. Especially when it's being documented for all of Japan to see.
But Yamapi doesn't seem to grasp the fact that Ryo needs concentration in order to be his glorious self on camera. "Ryo-chan," Yamapi whispers into his ear, tugging on a strand of his hair. Ryo swats him away and looks again at the camera.
"This is something big," Ryo says, "something that's never happened to NEWS before..."
Yamapi's fingering the waistband of his pants, causing him to lose his train of thought. "Ryo-chan," Yamapi yet again whispers huskily into his ear. "Shige's waiting for us in the bath..."
"Will you be quiet?" Ryo asks, not quite registering Yamapi's invitation. "So I guess I feel...um..."
And it clicks. "CRAP. WHAT? NOW?"
Ryo runs past the camera like lightning, leaving his interview incomplete and a flustered Yamapi standing awkwardly where Ryo was supposed to be. "Well...we're going to try our best to make next year even better~"
And with a signature Yamapi thumbs up, he flails out the door to join Ryo and Shige.

Each of the members change into their new clothes for their opening performance in a mass frenzy except for Shige, who is the last to step out for their song. So he's a tad less antsy than the rest of the members.
"Uwaahh! Shige's so cool, ne? He's so calm even though this is our FIRST BIG TOKYO DOME performance!" Tegoshi practically wibbles in awe before rushing out the door, not stopping to notice that Shige's face becomes a sick, pallid color with his exclamation.
Yamapi then Massu hop out of the door on cue, and Koyama pats Shige's shoulder reassuringly, yelling "ganbatte, ne?" through the fangirls' screams before making his way up onto the stage. Shige fumbles as he rushes to grab his vest, and Ryo stands there, smirking at the scene.
"Awww, is a wittle Shige a wittle scarwed?" Ryo teases and inches towards the nervous man to pinch his cheeks. Shige slaps his hands away, muttering something about teasing bastards when Ryo grabs him by the arm, staring at him seriously.
"Don't worry, Shige. You'll do great," Ryo says, eyes still piercing through Shige in a way that makes his legs want to melt like jello. And he catches his breath when he realizes that Ryo's face is coming closer and closer to his own--
"Nishikido-kun! Kato-kun! You were supposed to be on stage 10 seconds ago!" The female tech producer screeches at them, causing the two to spring apart. Shige covers his face, trying to hide the bright red coloring while Ryo scratches the back of his head awkwardly.
"Ano, let's have fun at the concert," Shige says awkwardly, sticking his hand out (though only God knows why) to shake Ryo's hand.
"Uh, yeah, enjoy the entire thing..." Ryo hastily grabs his hand and pulls him onto the stage, quickly letting go and walking to the other side as though nothing has happened.
Shige sighs. How typical of the older man. And he doesn't get a chance to analyze it further before the song begins.

There are many things about NEWS's leader that Shige admires profusely. There's the fact that Yamapi works hours and hours everyday tirelessly and even keeps at his work for university. There's the way that he manages to make everyone in NEWS as well as the rest of the jimusho respect him effortlessly. And then there's the fact that he can truly be so passionate and serious about things, but in a good way.
Shige ponders this and subconsiously turns to look at his leader, who is drinking a bottle of milk stoically as he probably contemplates all the work he has to complete before the concert starts...
"Yamashita-san, you have milk on your nose," Tegoshi says as he giggles.
"Eh? Really?" Yamapi sits up and attempts to look down at his nose, causing him to go cross-eyed.
"Haha you should lick it!"
"Yeah!" Ryo suddenly enters the conversation and stares at Yamapi with an evil grin. "Lick it off. LICK IT."
Yamapi, much to Shige's horror, attempts to lick the tip of his nose, lolling his tongue out to reach the ridiculous distance.
Shige's heart slumps, all admiration quickly disappating with the scene. He'd forgotten that side of Yamapi. The side that was less than amazing...

"2 minutes til showtime!" one of the show directors scream through the megaphone. Ryo pays no mind, choosing to take his time walking towards the stage. They always start once the fangirls' screams are at their peak anyways, and from the sounds, it didn't seem 2 minutes away.
"Hey, Ryo-chan~" Yamapi skips to his side, a wide grin on his face.
"Yo, Pi," Ryo answers and reaches out to give Yamapi a high five and almost blanches in offense when the older man snatches his hand away, effectively rejecting him.
"What the hell, Pi??" Ryo says, not bothering to hide the fact that he is hurt. The two have stopped right before the entrance. Yamapi pays him no mind, instead choosing to concentrate on an idea that suddenly popped up in his mind.
"Ryo-chaaaan, how long have we been friends?" Ryo grumbles something like 7 years in response. Yamapi contemplates the answer. "If we've been mabudachi for so long, why is it that we don't have a secret hand shake yet? Jin and Yuu-chan have one, so why don't we??"
Ryo almost laughes at the pout on Yamapi's face, his mood quickly lifting. "Let's just make one now then."
Yamapi brightens and says something about having been planning one already. He grabs Ryo's hand and begins making strange gestures. "You have to do it like this--" step number one "--and then this--" step number two "--and then like this--" and finishes up with a sweeping hand clap.
Ryo sniggers at all the movements. "You mean to--" and follows Yamapi's movements "--like this?"
Yamapi stands back, pleased with their success. "Yay~" He says with a big thumbs up and wink and then makes his way up the stage as the 30 second signal is announced. Ryo runs through the movements again and then realizes how ridiculously complicated it is.
"WHAT THE HELL--PI YOU NEED TO TEACH ME AGAIN!" And he follows Yamapi onto the stage.
