T-minus 7 weeks...

...time is about to start flying. monday i start training at the call center for 8 hrs/day, 5 days/week. that, combined with the long commutes to and from the place, is going to leave me exhausted allll the time up until my departure. :/ i'm getting anxious about what this training will entail... and i really feel bad about going through all of this training when i won't be able to stay. sigh.

in other news, every little bit of new information that i get from my school in Japan is making me soooo excited. today i found out the address of my soon-to-be apartment and i used my MAD google skillz to not only virtually explore the neighborhood via Street View, but to even find floor layouts and photos of the inside of one of the apartments in the building. :DD

and OMG, did i get lucky with this apartment or what?! it seems to be recently renovated with fairly large (by Japanese standards) 6 tatami rooms and a large kitchen/dining area. it's a 3 minute walk to the nearest train station, there's a western-style cake/sweets shop right next door, a large supermarket + 7 Eleven is literally a minute away on foot and a gym is about 10mins away on foot. it's also just 5 minutes on foot from the apartment to the school's main branch. :3

i'm currently looking at booking a flight to leave Vegas on Nov. 10th and arrive in Tokyo late in the afternoon on Nov. 11th. i would spend either 2 nights in Tokyo getting a keitai setup or just vegetating in bookstores/cafes OR i would spend 2 nights in Mito-shi, Ibaraki's capital just south of Hitachinaka-shi, checking out the area. either way, i need to show up at my school on the 13th and would start training on the 14th. even though i don't have the money for 2 nights stay in any hotel, i can't afford to start work jet lagged straight off a plane either.

back to things in the present, i might be getting my international driving permit tomorrow. it's ridiculous how easy it is to get one. also, i finally got my pension/superannuation refund from Australia. w00t! and just in time because i am seriously hurting for money... i'm transferring it to my US account and then (hopefully) i'll be able to finally close my AU bank account.

...i'm also halfassedly trying to start studying Japanese again. i really need to get on that...

oh, and i'm still maintaining a pescetarian diet totally without problem. i've also been exercising for the past month or so, but i've been doing it more seriously over the past week and a half. i'm already feeling a difference from my workout and i hope that i can maintain it (and maybe join a gym nvm, too expensive) once i'm in Hitachinaka-shi. i really want to lose my belly flab (WHICH IS STUBBORN AS ALL HELL, GOD) and i want to be in the best shape that i can be in to start cycling. :)
