The Aussie term "casual" sounds basically like "part-time" but without a regular schedule... heh. I was doing that for a bit between JET and coming back to Japan. I wasn't getting a lot of work and it was pretty hard to make ends meet. Hopefully you'll get more hours than I did, though.
That's interesting that they're all different Daisos... confusing!
Where I live now we have Seria which is another 100 yen shop chain. I think Seria is actually based here because we have a buttload of them, way more than Daiso. But we do have a Daiso, too ;) and actually I went there yesterday.
Stretching has always scared me D: but mostly the big holes some people get. I think it was probably from some videos we saw in my cultural anthropology class back in college. There is some mad stretching going on in some parts of the world.
Then again, I have two cartilage piercings which aren't for everyone. They hurt way worse than lobes, too. Plus I would like a tattoo. But Japan is so anti-tattoo... the gym I want to join has a no tattoos rule.
Now that you're free of the conformist conservative Japanese hivemind, you should get crazy.
the first Seria opened in Kochi just a few months before i left. :o maybe they are more based out where you are. i though Seria was a nice store, but Daiso had more character...? lol :3 either way, both were way better than many other 100yen stores.
yeah, i know what you mean. D: i think big holes in ears and the saggy lobes that come with it are icky....even comparatively tame stretches with tunnels in them don't really appeal to me either. i definitely don't intend to stretch very large, though.
as for cartilage piercings.... yeah, THAT's scary to me lol.... i'm definitely not one for pain, but as long as i stretch gradually and carefully there should hardly be any, which is very appealing to me. :)
I think Ogaki is actually Seria's home base. Which would explain why there are so many of them here.
From my experiences, Seria seems to have more things for using around the house. But Daiso has better seasonal decorations and school/craft supplies.
I don't remember why, but I always wanted to get my upper ear pierced when I was younger. I even had these ear cuff things I wore up there a lot but I think they all ended up falling off and getting lost and one point or another. So when I turned 18 I got two in my left ear.
A lot of people at that time were getting nose, lip, tongue, or eyebrow piercings. I just wanted something a little less facial lol.
