i should probably get permission to post my RSPCA photos before posting them online, but i just cant resist this photo of Lola. ADOPT HER NOW AT THE FAIRFIELD RSPCAQLD SHELTER FOR ONLY $120![/duty] no, seriously. she's a beautiful cat that is well aware of her good looks and likes to flaunt them. i really do believe that she thinks herself to be royalty, lulz.
anyway, i've really only been working at the RSPCA for 2 days since i only work once a week and the first week was just orientation, but i'm really liking it so far. :] i get to play with and huggle animals of all kinds (not just household pets) and then i get to photowhore them and write little bios for them. next week i might even be making posters/fliers. :D today i got to meet a really sweet bulldog, got to play with entertain several cats and then played with a pig that liked hugs. D; another dog almost killed one of my lenses, but he didn't mean to! <3
i hope i can keep up this volunteer job in the longterm.... not only do i really enjoy what i'm doing, it's also really fulfilling and meaningful. also there's a lot that i can learn from this job in terms of photography and otherwise. :]
changing the subject a bit, me and David have been looking for a new place to live. i've been meaning to type up a rant about the real estate market here (such a pain in the ass!!!), but i'll save that for another time. anyway, one of the things that we've been looking into is finding a place that allows cats and today we just applied to two really nice places that do. we should find out if we've been approved by mid next week....! *fingers crossed* i really hope that we get approved...
