obstacles in getting to Australia

two things that are getting in the way of getting ready to go to Australia:

#1 money

the root of all evil that is money is always making things hard for me. :( but i guess that this time it's really my own fault for having not saved a yen before now...

is there no way that you can graciously accept their ticket and then go to the airline and ask about exchanging it? (i've never really traveled on my own, so i've never had to deal with booking flights so idk if this is not do-able especially since you didn't purchace the ticket in the first place or even if they'll give you your ticket far enough in advance to make this possible.) If you could do that, you'd get to go where you want to and get some cash back. T-san can feel like she's doing her job to the letter and everyone wins.

i've thought about that... oh how i would love the satisfaction of that if it worked. 8) but there are so many risks involved that even the potential satisfaction isn't enough to make me try anymore...

Get the ticket to America, get the receipt, then get them to pay for it. Then cancel the ticket, and buy one to Australia with the money they put in your account. Easy peasy.

Yes, lots of people do this. I ended up just getting the money because I printed off the schedule and rates of a flight off the internet and told them I was going to book it once I had the money, and then just never did. I had no contact with them after I turned in my apartment keys on my last day, so they never found out, and probably didn't care enough to find out.

glad to hear that lots of people do it lol. means that a lot of other people probably have annoying BOEs as well.

hmmm... i might get up the courage/will power to do this after all... we'll see.
