...it's been so long since i last updated this lj (and even that update wasnt a real update) that i dont know where to start with this entry. ^^; i've made several attempts at writing entries before now, but yeah... i've been a mixture of busy and lazy the past few weeks and nothing ever got done.
last night David (
figgybee) went back home to Australia. :( we left Kochi wednesday morning and spent the last couple of days in Osaka & Kobe. it was his 3rd time in Osaka and my 5th?, so while it wasn't anything completely new it was still really enjoyable. it was our first time in Kobe and i have to say that i really like the city. :) reminded me of my favorite Japanese city, Nagasaki. we also went to our first cat cafe there. :D that was nice, although by the time we had gotten there the cats were kinda worn out already. ^^; anyway, yeah.... David is gone and now i'm back in my apartment in Kochi alone. :( it feels very empty and lonely...
all of my attention now is on the end of march and my finances. at the end of march i'll get to see David again but this time in Australia. :D it will only be for a week, but it's a week that i'm really looking forward to. as for finances, starting from today until i leave Japan i have to live very frugally! i HAVE to save EVERY yen that i can...! this is my biggest (and also hardest) goal for the next 5~ months. >_<; and as saving money is such a big issue, i'm beginning to question trips that i am/was considering taking between now and when i leave Japan.
mar 20 ~ 23 i have 4 days off thanks to a monday holiday & a 1/2 day of daikyu and nenkyu. i was seriously considering doing a backpacker's trip to Hiroshima, but maybe even backpacking it wouldn't be cheap enough to make this trip doable...
mar 1 ~ 4 is Golden Week and i was considering backpacking in Okinawa or attending a seminar in Tokyo. going to Okinawa seems risky because even though i REALLY would like to go there before I leave Japan, i know myself well enough to know that i would be at major risk of blowing a lot of money there. on the other hand, if i went to the seminar in Tokyo i could get a package deal that would include accommodation & some meals for a pretty cheap price. plus i'd be at the seminar the majority of the time and thus away from money-blowing opportunities. the seminar seems like the way to go, but it would be my last chance at seeing Okinawa....
what to do?? ;-; aside from traveling, i think i can keep my money-blowing tendencies to a min if i put my all into it... but missing out on final chances at traveling in Japan (and possibly anywhere else in Asia for a while)... i'm so torn. :( South Korea was also on my list of must-visit places before leaving Japan... could replace backpacking in Hiroshima with backpacking in S. Korea, but money would still be an issue. >_<; urgh
anyway... back to things that have actually happened. the last couple of weeks David and I had little reservations in terms of money when it came to food, but with 2 people paying that was more easily done. D; we had lots of yummy food and fun experiences, including biking around places in Kochi that even i had never been to and going up Godaisan (a mountain behind my house). it really sucks that he's gone... i'm glad that i didn't recontract because atleast now i have august to look forward to, not just march. :) i just have to hang on and save money till then....
....and i'll end this entry here or else i'll keep going on about any and everything. there's no way i can recap the entirety of the past couple of weeks in one entry. :[
