which to get?
so, i really want to get a new phone mainly for international use and secondly for new awesome features. i`ve managed to (kinda) narrow it down to these two,. neither of which are carried by my current phone provider but that shouldn`t be too much of a problem*. which to get, though?
i`ve made the following table as much for my own benefit as for asking for other`s input, if any.

*since havent decided whether or not this year will be my last year or not, i can`t sign a 2year contract with any company and that kinda sucks for various reasons. also, since i am coming up on the one-year mark (august) for when i would be leaving if i decide not to stay two more years, i`m kinda in a hurry even to just sign a 1year contract-- boooo.... ;-; the HTC Magic is set to be released anytime between now and the end of July, which is cutting it pretty close to the one-year mark... ><;;
granted i need to save money (*kicks self*) and everything, i think buying either of these phones would be a good purchase since don`t even have to pay for either of them upfront and i should be able to keep using either of them once i leave Japan instead of buying a new phone. it`s not like once i`m done with this job i`ll have the income to afford to buy such a nice phone, so why not get one while i can...? D;

- its open source = freedom + the same potential for apps as the iPhone

- its lighter
- has 3G + GSM = it can be used in 185 countries
- many carriers worldwide are likely to support the phone, so i can probably continue using the same phone once i leave Japan
- relatively easy to unlock
- the large number of available apps right out of the box
- integrated music software
- a normal headphone jack
- support everywhere there`s a fkin apple store/seller
- it`s thinner
- has 3G + GSM = it can be used in 185 countries
- there are (some, but not as many) carriers worldwide that support the phone, so i can probably continue using the same phone once i leave Japan

- it`s not even out yet and i`m running short on time*
- lack of a normal headphone jack
- lack of available apps straight out of the box
- it`s by Apple = everything is tightly controlled
- iTunes + DRM
- it`s by Apple = while i can get another carrier to service it once i leave, carriers are more limited
- lack of a USB port
- hard to unlock because Apple sucks
