set the world on fire

let's see, i haven`t updated about tuesday`s trip to Kera after they forgot to tell me that there was no school monday. all i have to say about that day is this: i had 3 classes, all of which went ok. i taught the 2nd years for the first time this school year and i suspect that they are already coming down with what i now dub 2年生病 (ninenseibyou/2nd years' syndrome), which i find to be quite sad... even the JTE who taught them as 1st years and seemed to enjoy teaching them seemed to be annoyed with them that day. poor her.

wednesday was Showa Day, a national holiday, so i didn`t have to work. thank god for that cause i needed the extra sleep. there should be a mini-weekend in the middle of every week.

today i went to Todzu ES, the ES that has pissed me off the most by far since i have been here. this morning, as soon as i got off the bus to make the 1,000m trek to the school, i knew it was one of those mornings. ie. it was one of those mornings when things that i could otherwise brush off annoyed me like hell. this included getting gawked/stared at by 85% of the people that i passed on the way to the school, which usually i can ignore but today it really pissed me off. looking back on it now, i think that my pissy mood was triggered by the fact that i was going to Todzu, a school that i rather don`t like. i was annoyed in advance since i often leave the school annoyed. D; anyway, i plastered out a fake genki face (so hard to do, but use to it) upon arriving at the school and thankfully all three of my classes (thanks mostly to my own planning) went alright and all of the students were genki so i ended up leaving the school without being annoyed or pissed this time. yay! major accomplishment.

a few details on the classes, for my own future reference: tajught 2 classes of 6th years Lesson 2 of the new English Note textbook (even though they apparently hadn`t even done Lesson 1) and taught 1 class of 3rd years weather. unlike what i did with Lesson 1 at Asahi ES, i stuck more to the textbook materials this time because it seemed more manageable than Lesson 1 had. the students were interested in the lesson topic (gestures), especially in the lil segment on American gestures that i added to the lesson, so that was great. :] both teachers stood back and let me do everything, as usual, but atleast they managed their classes. the 3rd year teacher was rather meh.... she managed the students only when she had to and hardly communicated with me at all. also, to my surprise, all of the 3rd years recognized me... guess i taught them as 2nd years. they were almost too genki and learning 5 weather-related words seemed a little hard for them (although it was partially just their lack of attention span). i was given the typical shitty lesson plan and while i supplemented it with 1 more game of my own, i didn`t really touch it aside from that because i was getting a vibe from the teacher that she would rather i stick to her plan.... >_>; which sucked. meh.

next thursday i have to go back and repeat all of this again except with 5th years and a different 3rd year class. i am tempted to headdesk at the thought, but no. it wasn`t that bad this time..... is what i have to keep reminding myself.

upon leaving the school i went to the grocery store that i often go to after going to that school because it`s next to the bus stop. what i found in the store made my fkin day. 8) i found Alaskan king crab legs..... HALF PRICE. HALF PRICE. CRAB. anyone who doesn`t know about crab in Japan is probably like "so what?", but seriously. i love crab. i LOVE crab. but crab in Japan is RIDICULOUSLY expensive. RIDICULOUSLY. to put it this way: in Vegas, a desert far from water, crab is CHEAPER than here in Japan, a fkin island. i have only been able to afford crab ONCE since i`ve been here (b/c i refuse to spend $$$ on food) even though i had really looked forward to eating lots of it when i first came. the crab that i found today was originally 2,000yen (20$) and i got it for 1,000 (10$). the deal was so fkin awesome, so fkin unbelievable that i had to buy 2 packs. i shall save them for when i am depressed because they will be so awesome that i`ll probably be close to dying from happiness whenever i eat them. 8)

i have crab! HELL YEAAHH. 8)

*yawns* i have more to blurb about, but not now. later.

[random]oh, Tsutsui-san (new supervisor), you're so nice. never change. don`t let the higher ups scare the awesomeness out of you.
