monday: sucked. went to Kera JHS for my first day of classes and ended up being forgotten(?) the entire day. >_>; granted it wasnt entirely their fault i guess as it seems there were communication problems all around. >_>; for one it seemed like no one had even received my schedule for the new term, so maybe they had assumed i wouldnt be coming? o_O S-sensei who usually handles all my scheduling and stuff was away on nenkyuu and it seems the 2 remaining JTEs (C & M) dont really communicate very well. >_>; in the morning one C-sensei came and told me i`d have 3 classes with M-sensei but by the end of the day it was apparent that M-sensei had never heard anything about that, even though when i asked C-sensei after the 1st missed class i was told that M-sensei did indeed know that i was suppose to joining in on his classes. meh. tuesday i was scheduled to go to the BOE but right as i was getting ready to leave M-sensei asked me to teach two classes with him on tuesday. -.-;;
tuesday: finally met some of the new 1st years for the first time. 1st years are so cute lol. well, as "cute" as middle schoolers can be anyway. the way 2nd and 3rd years tend to behave, one cant help but appreciate the 1st years even though they have their own issues as well. D; but for now, the 1st years are oh so fresh and genki and all around untainted by JHS... *wipes exaggerated tears from her eyes* oh, it`s beautiful while it lasts. D; anyway! had two classes with `em with M-sensei, most of which was my self introduction. quite a few of the kids already vaguely knew me from elementary visits and/or seeing me at godknowswhere. thankfully tuesday wasnt as bad as monday.
wednesday: i had been stressing a bit about my classes this day, but thankfully things went as well as i could have hoped for. i went to Asahi ES for the 2nd(?) time ever to teach three classes of 6th years using the dreaded new English textbook which i shall have to do a full-length, proper rant on another time. it was my very first time using the textbook. :/ thank GOD Asahi`s vice principle & 6th yr teachers were on the ball with it and were very active in trying to help with the lessons while also being receptive to the changes revisions that i made. thank god for that, seriously, as it helped me feel a lil less stressed right off the bat. also, if the teachers hadn`t been so helpful and receptive... i`m afraid of when i will be sent to a school and asked to do the textbook and the teachers dont respond like Asahi`s did. =_-; the students were great too. they seemed eager to open their brand spankin` new textbooks (that they literally hadnt even seen before the classes) and do English stuff. i think that the fact that they were still fresh as 6th years also helped, though. >_>; anyway, the games/activities that i replaced the textbook games/activites with went really well. all went really well. I LOVE YOU V. PRINCIPLE OF ASAHI. <3
today: sat at the BOE all day studying thanks to Godaisan ES canceling my classes. thank you Godaisan! got some needed crap and unwinding done.
tomorrow: my first day at my new base school, Namegawa JHS... a little JHS in the middle of the mountains with a grand total of only 26 students this year (says their website). i haven`t even seen the school yet... D; gotta get up and leave really early tomorrow to catch the very inconvenient little bus to the school, which means i should go to bed early tonight... i guess this will be a regular thing from now on. u.u oh well, hopefully the school will be nice and worth it.
