man, being an English teacher in Japan really sucks ass sometimes.

Definitely yes.

Oh, so you want to be a teacher when you're back in the States?
I would NEVER want to be a teacher in my own country XD

i`m considering it... mainly because it seems the easiest and most stable job that i can get in America right now. :[

Did you study to become a teacher in America or isn't that necessry if you want to become a teacher in America?
Sorry, I'm just curious and I know nothing about it, so that's why I'm asking :D

requirements vary from state to state, but every state requires a license, which you have to go to school to get. i don`t have a license, i would have to go back to school for atleast a year to get one. but a year is nothing compared to going back to school to get a masters for some other jobs. >_>;

Wow, that's interesting.
But I guess being a teacher is a pretty "good job" in every country. Like ... it's a "save" job as there will always be a need for teachers, no? ;)

I'm still not sure if I like the American system ... like being an undergraduate and then a lot of people travel or whatever ... take a break and THEN go back to do their masters or whatever. Maybe it's a good thing, maybe not.
In Germany you have to do it ALL in one go (so I went to university for almost 7 years in one go).
Right now they try to change our degrees into Bachelor and Master to become more international. I wonder if then we will have something like an undergraduate "state", too, in Germany. Probably :)

all in one go, wow... what if you cant afford to do it all in one go like that. :/ or is uni free or something over there....?

if it`s free, then all i can say is "damn D;".

Uhm ... it used to be free, yes. But I think in 2005 (can't remember) they started to have tuition fees in some parts of Germany and I had to pay, too, but as I was almost finished it was okay.
It's still by far not as expensive as in the States :/
