i`m tired and don`t feel like updating but i must update semi-intelligently for the sake of acknowledging my last day at Ikku J.H.S. and someone`s bday!
but first, yesterday it was windy as hell. it was like the rain stopped and a wind storm replaced it to usher in the start of spring. is spring typically the windy season of Japan?? it was so windy it shook the building and even the sliding door to my kitchen rattled. :[ today was very windy too but thankfully not building-rattling windy. i really hope the wind goes away by sunday morning.... >_> high winds arent exactly idle flight/take off weather.
but anyway, i fought my way through the wind on bike to Ikku. last day i`ll be biking to Ikku.... :`[ today was a REALLY REALLY REALLY short "school day" at Ikku..... as in the bell rung, teachers went to the classroom for 生活 (a class that really isnt a class but starts every school day), said "good morning bleh bleh bleh bleh" for 20 mins then the bell rang again and the students were free to go. the students had to get outfitted in their uniforms and bike to school just for a 20minute session??? geez. D; but the rest of the day was devoted to parent-teacher-student conferences, so the students would eventually have to come back to school some time in the day with a parent... but still 20minutes geez. but before they left after 生活 i did the brief announcement over the intercom today regarding it being my last day. was sad. :[ for me anyway. then i was given a gift from the JTEs.... that was so sweet of them.... :`[ most of the teachers were out and about around the school and it would have been pointless for me to spend the day at Ikku since there`d be nothing for me to do but sit at my desk, so i wrote brief notes to the JTEs, put them on their desks and left... very anti-climatic, but i was still kinda emotional when i walked out the staff room door. :`[
today all of the teachers in Kochi City public schools found out if they were being moved to a new school for the upcoming school year starting in April. yes, in Kochi City teachers are circulated from school to school regularly, unlike in America atleast. but the teachers didn`t find this out until the later part of the day, in which case i had already left Ikku, so i don`t know who ended up being left there and who is leaving.... same for Otsu, i don`t know if the JTEs i`ve grown fond of will still be there once i return in April.... that really, really sucks, but oh well.. *sigh*
anyway, left Ikku around 10:15am and came home to get some laundry done. thankfully it didn`t get blown off my balcony. >_>;; i could have stayed at home the whole day and my supervisor would have never known because Ikku wouldn`t have told her and she wouldnt have called Ikku.... D; but nooooooooo, i was a good girl and went to the BOE after i finished hanging the laundry and ate lunch. then after work me and 2 other ALTs met with
watercircle to celebrate her birthday!
happy birthday
watercircle!
who is probably decently drunk by now and possibly passed out on another ALT`s floor. on a futon, hopefully. D; i had to leave the get together early for various reasons, but not before we had okonomiyaki at a restaurant that is apparently the same okonomiyaki restaurant me and
watercircle had eaten at in AEON a few weeks ago. D; apparently it`s a chain. i didn`t know that. awesome. this one is bigger and nicer and in the shopping arcade (note to self: in front of Daimaru). definitely bringing family there if they ever make it to Japan. :P i had octopus okonomiyaki like i had last time because octopus is that awesome. D;
and now i`m tired and should go to bed so i can get up early and do stuff. i`ve already got most of my packing done, though, so yay for that. maybe i can actually enjoy part of my saturday.
