woke up this morning and the sky looked horrible. then i had my magical instant oatmeal and things were a little better as i went off to work. it rained on and off all day, pouring like mad at random times but luckily never when i had to be out in it. i ended up doing a self-introduction lesson to another 3rd year class and helped out two 2nd year classes. i'm starting to like 3rd years better than 2nd years if only for the fact that they're a little more mature.
sports day is now going to be on tuesday unless it rains again, in which case it'll be on wednesday. which means i probably wont get to see sports day at all this year. :[ tuesday i might be able to drop by for the later half after lunch, but.... no idea when Ikku will be having theirs, but it's unlikely that it'll be on thrusday or friday while i'm there. :[ my schedule for the week:
mon: national holiday
tues: Godaisan ES - one 6th year class: math; one 4th year class: colors
weds: day off on account of working today
thurs: Ikku JHS
fri: Ikku JHS
three work days. and next monday is a holiday as well. :x too bad both holidays are on what would have been my half day anyway. -_-' everyone else at the BOE has wednesday half days. so not fair. but as for Godaisan tuesday... math i have yet to teach.... i SUCK at all things math, even the simplest things. i hope i can manage to pull together a decent lesson plan. they will already know the actual mathematical aspect as they're 6th years, and they've supposedly already had a run in with math in english, but i'm suppose to provide a review for them. >_>; which is better than teaching from scratch, but still...
anyway, the other part of the entry's title. i think my laptop's video card is dying.... which is pathetic as this laptop is less than two years old.
about four (seemingly random) times now the screen has turned a completely solid color displaying nothing and allowing me to do nothing. no, it is not the legendary windows blue screen of death. every time this happens the screen turns a different color. peach or gray or lime green etc.... and it displays nothing.
this laptop has always had overheating problems. even in the peak of winter, sitting outside in the snow i have no doubt it'd make a wonderful snow melter. :/ it hasn't been any hotter than usual.... but i can't think of any other possible explanation other than heat damage to the hardware. this doesn't seem like the work of a virus....? not like i've downloaded anything anyway and AVG finds nothing.
:sigh: i had considered buying a computer here, but not so soon. i really hope that this isn't a hardware problem because that would really be a pain to fix here. if it is and the computer is going to die, i hope it atleast holds out for a couple months... if i do have to get a new laptop, you can be sure i will settle for nothing but greatness. electronics are my biggest folly and it will cost me dearly. literally.
ps: both of the Death Note movies were great. i recommend them whether you've read the manga or seen the anime or not.
