(no subject)
...i'm getting lazy pretty quickly with this daily updating thing. :/ not good, because it'll probably only continue to go downhill... >_>;
but anyway, yesterday i taught 3 classes... one 3rd year class which actually wasn't worse than the 2nd years in terms of shyness. they're still quiet, but i think i might not mind teaching 3rd years. i also think the 2nd years may be warming up to me a little... they weren't as quiet and shy when i assisted the JTE in playing a game in the class yesterday. it went pretty well actually... i also did the last self-intro lesson for 1st years that i'll have to do at Otsu JHS. that class was SO noisy and misbehaved. i feel so sorry for the 1st year JTE having to put up with that ALL the time. i swear american teachers wouldn't put up with the shit these students do. i admire japanese teachers' patience tremendously. :/ but at the same time, they shouldnt have to put up with that stuff either... :sigh:
today was nothing but practice for Sports Day, which is a big event for all middle schoolers every year. it's kind of like Field Day in american elementary schools except the games/races are a bit more serious and competitive here because it's middle school rather than elementary school. i just sat and watched the whole thing for 8hrs, but it was interesting to watch. sunday is the real thing and i'll be going to Otsu for it. if it rains, however, it'll be postponed and regular classes will be held... :/ meaning i'll have to teach on a sunday. booo~. but in compensation for going to school on a sunday, i'm going to get one of my regular days off. i'm going to bring my camera with me on sunday and hopefully get some pictures of the events, but i have to get permission first, so...
tomorrow i have to teach three classes of 2nd years animals at an elementary school. :/ and the school isn't exactly close... and i have to bike there. >_>; it BETTER not rain tomorrow.... BETTER not. sunday, too. i've already kind of got a lesson plan ready because i've already taught two 1st year classes animals, but i still wanna try to improve the lesson plan a little so... that is my excuse to cut this entry short.
dependent on the weather, my laziness, and the cleanliness of the apartment, i may post a belated photo tour of my apartment on saturday. 楽しみ。
