What's been up
Since I last wrote, so much has happened!
This weekend was a blast. Friday night dinner and a movie and then game night at Brian's. Saturday I saved someone's life. Meaning, I donated blood at the Red Cross with Erika. Part of the quesitonnaire asks where you've traveled, and you literally have to tell them every single city you visited if you went to a high risk malaria spot such as China. A chinese nurse was called over to help me spell out the names lol. A tech, not a nurse, inserted the needle, and she didn't do it right, and I almost passed out from the pain. after repositioning the needle things went OK, but toward the end the blood stopped flowing and they literally milked the blood from my arm. I have a large blue bruise, but it was worth it.
Saturday night was my date with R. He took me to Main St. in Huntington Beach. He grew up in HB, so he knew all the good places to go; we got gyros at a little drug store and sat by the ocean's edge by the pier and ate them. We met up with 2 of his friends and then headed for the club. R's brother is a bouncer there, so he brought us to the front of the line and had us cut through, brought us to a table right in front of the dance floor, it was awesome. :)
Oh! While we were walking to the club some guy came up to me and started hitting on me. R was right there! R folded his arms, stepped between us and said, "not tonight bro". I felt very protected. lol
I finished Nursing 292 on Monday, with the final exam. That night we all met up at Hurricane's in HB to celebrate! I won't go in to details, but it was a really really fun time, everyone buying each other rounds of shots. I even got to dance with my crush in class. I don't think he's into me, but it was still fun and he told me I was a good dancer.
Afterward a few of us went to Denny's to sober up. I felt so taken care of. That's the great thing about having friends who are nursing students, they know how to take care of you. I felt a little embarrassed for having drunk so much in front of my nursing buddies, but everyone else was pretty wasted too, some people had been drinking since 1pm that day! Anyway, the next morning it didn't seem to matter ... I think the party brought us closer together more than anything. I think we're all getting together again Saturday night.
Now it's just time to relax. I am going to work a couple days and get my room in order. Overall I have so much to thank God for, I am so grateful.
