"Dragon Tattoo" Rant

 HOLY CRAP.

I just watched the movie adaptation of Stieg Larsson's Girl With the Dragon Tattoo with my father, and it was absolutely BRILLIANT. How are foreign films so damn good? And the actress who played Lisbeth was phenomenal. Seriously. I don't think it could have been cast better if the character had been pulled straight from Larsson's brain.

So yes, the movie was excellent, and now I feel obliged to pay tribute to the book, which I read (along with the next two in the series) earlier this summer. Actually, I say "read," but "devoured" is probably more accurate. It's an amazingly gripping and creative thriller, perfect for all you mystery lovers out there, and I would recommend it for anyone who loves a good read.

That's about all I have to say right now, but I hope whoever reads this goes out and picks up either the book or the movie (or both) because they're both bound to be classics.

Also a good movie (while I'm ranting): In Bruges. Watched it with my parents two nights ago. Very entertaining black comedy. Colin Farrell is precious. And I heart Ralph Fiennes. Highly recommended, but it's very violent so if that's not your thing you might want to pass.

Okay, I think I'm done rambling for the night.

So long, all!

movies, books, rambling
