My room smells like an island paradise... woot. :-) It's called "Blue Hawaii" (the scent, that is). It's great...
Uh, yeah, it appears I'm the only liberal in my Criminal Justice course. :-/ We did a discussion board on the Patriot Act... needless to say I'm the only one who disapproves of it. Ah, the black sheep and we haven't even ventured into the second week of class. Some comments on the board have really erked my nerves... like a guy who said: "If anyone were to abuse it the media would get ahold of it and it'd be on every channel in every country." Right, so let's make it the media's resposibility to find corruption... isn't that supposed to be the law enforcement's responsibility? In the mean time let's risk public humiliation because we're too lazy to change things. Then some lady went back to "I'm sure those who died that fateful day wouldn't mind their rights being intruded upon..." It really annoys me when people bring up those who have already passed to prove a point. To me it's disrespectful.... So yeah, I'm not enjoying Criminal Justice like I thought I would. Then again, I should have known I'd be surrounded by conservative public order advocates. lol Okay, that was mean-spirited and I apologize. When it boils down to it, I can't understand how people would support an Act that clearly dimisses judicial review. *sigh* Totalitarianism here we come!
Business Law II is going really well... so far I'm loving it (just as I did with Business Law I). Then again, I already know Dr. Thomas is a bleeding heart liberal (I had her for the first bus. law) so I feel more comfortable stating my opinion. What I really enjoy is our cases. With each module she gives us cases where we have to use what we've learned to analyze what happened and predict an outcome. Ah, I love it... a class where I actually apply knowledge!
Hey, did anyone notice I'm up before noon? Get this... the night before last I fell asleep at 10pm and woke up at 6am... and it felt great! Of course it wouldn't have happened had I not worked a 9-5er yesterday. Today I was awake around 9.30 but didn't get out of bed for an additional hour. Hhmm... well, I think I'm going to hop in the shower and start a pot of Kona Irish Creme.
