New Year's Thai Temple Brunch with friends - this Sunday 10am

Jan 06, 2009 22:17

My cherished friends,

Please join me in sharing food & conversation this Sunday at the Thai Buddhist temple, Wat Mongkolratanaram. I can't imagine a better way of starting off the new year, than communing with you over brunch on a Sunday morning.

A group of us will be gathering at the infamous Thai bunch everyone has been talking about! If you've never been, you are in for a treat. It's such a fun experience, exchanging your bills for handfuls of Thai tokens, and then stand in one of the many food lines and exchange them in for Thai deliciousness. The mango with sticky rich is reason alone to go! (They serve it with both white AND forbidden rice, AND a wee bit of coconut custard on top, AND the portion is huuuuge.)

After brunch, those of you who ride are invited to join us as we take our motorcycles up into the Berkeley hills for the lovely scenic views of the entire Bay Area, and south along twisty Pinehurst Road, an uncommonly isolated backroad that runs alongside Chabot Park. This surprisingly rural loop is almost like riding through West Marin, but closer, and with less traffic.

WHEN: 10:00 AM Come early (10:00am, no later than 10:30am) so you don't have to stand in lines that extend out to the street)
WHAT: Brunch with friends! Food is served to the public every Sunday, rain or shine. Exchange your dollars for tokens then stand in multiple lines to order your food. Drinks cost one token and the food ranges from 3 -6 tokens. Outdoor family-style seating.
