Everything Asian

I got to hear an old acquaintance from NYU, Sung J. Woo, read from his debut novel Everything Asian at the Boston Public Library today. As Kirkus Reviews describes it, "cleverly concatenated stories about the experience of Korean immigrants make up Woo’s loosely structured novel." I had intended to read a couple sections this afternoon before the reading and spend the rest of the afternoon writing, but instead I was sucked into reading the whole thing at one sitting. Funny, tender, and heartbreaking at different moments, and sometimes all at the same time. I highly recommend it. You can find more information and excerpts at his website.
