Waitlist
Last week I applied for a poetry conference-retreat, knowing that it was a long shot but hoping for the best. Imagine my delight to find an e-mail this afternoon informing me I have been waitlisted and that "We were very, very impressed with your writing and would very much love to bring you into the Retreat should a space become available."
Being accepted would have been the most gratifying, of course, but I am feeling quite giddy with being waitlisted. My writing actually means something to people beside family and friends. I'll find out by April 4th whether a space opens up...is it awful that I'm hoping someone drops out?
