Well, one of the profs at U Mich finally got back to me. I have someone to rotate with! I'm desperately excited.
It's Dr. Alice Telesnitsky, who was very kind and mothering and a little weird when I interviewed with her during the recruitment weekend. She works with viruses (the mouse form of HIV, actually), which I don't think will be what I want to do, but I told myself I need to do at least one virology rotation and not concentrate solely on bacteriology labs, because who knows? I might end up liking virology more.
So anyway, I leave in less than a month, and I still have so much packing (and unpacking) to do, and it's kind of freaky.
In good news, I might possibly get good results from the experiments I'm running right now. In bad news, I probably won't. Bugger!
X-Factor and Nextwave out tomorrow. Yay! Oh, and New Excalliber, which I normally don't read (no reason to torture myself with Claremont's writing if there's no characters I'm desperately attached to in the title), but Black Tom Cassidy is back and he's no longer a completely batshit crazy tree! Thank god. Some reparation for the havoc (no pun intended) Austen wrought is nice.
