Right, so like most people, I watch my weight. And yes, I put on a few unwanted pounds over Christmas (and thankfully they're gone now). Like any sane person can tell you, exercise and having a healthy diet are the best ways to lose weight and keep it off. Granted, it might be a slow process, but in the big picture, you learn how to eat better and you won't (hopefully) yo-yo on your weight. So I'm watching TV and of course there are all kinds of diet pill advertisements, like Alli. (I'm so sick of that commercial, it's on every commercial break on some stations!!) Great, they tell you that you've got to exercise and eat right and this will help you. It's true, people need to see results so they feel that all their sacrificing was worth it. My problem is with the Lipozene advertisement. They have people give testimonials about how much weight they lost (great) but that they didn't have to exercise or change their diet. One woman says, "You can't do it alone." The "doctor"/actress basically tells you it's a diet pill for people who are serious about losing body fat, not just weight. I mean, who tells you something like, you can't lose weight without this diet pill, that you've got no chance at success. Yes, I realize some people need more drastic measures to really lose weight (stomach staples, etc), but they're basically selling this to the public without even telling you to consult your physician! And we all know that these people are going to put the weight on when they stop taking the pills because they haven't learned how to eat right and exercise to maintain their new body! If they told you to moderately exercise, that would be better... God, sometimes I can't stand stupid advertising.
Oh, I should probably mention I'm back on Slim Fast. I'm back to the weight I was before, and have been for 2 years, but I just feel like lately I've been making really bad choices in eating, and that I'm overeating. So hopefully this will re-teach me how to eat less. It worked for me once, and I've always kept that weight off and lost more without being on a diet, so hopefully I'll see the same results this time. Now before you get your panties (or boxers) in a twist, my weight goal has ALWAYS been to reach 125-130lbs. Now, I started at about 175, lost 30 lbs on Slim Fast, lost 10-15 more just exercising and eating better. So I'm not trying to be supermodel thin, they're a little too thin for me, and I know that's not realistic. However, I know 125 is, because I was practically at that weight when I got back from Egypt, and really, it just makes my ass and thighs look slimmer. So rest assured, I'm not going all SoCal crazy on your asses and thinking I'm fat, etc.
