Sunday was uneventful. The movie I wanted to watch, "
The Fall", was completely sold out. They didn't even release any tickets for rush. =( Lingered around festival area and caught glimpses of Zach Braff, Jude Law, and Kate Winslet. No pictures to show for those, unfortunately.
Went to watch
Out of the Blue after work on Monday, no star sighting (OMG Karl, what happened to you?! You were on the guest list!!! >=| ) The movie was very well made, gripping yet sensitive. I was a bit apprehensive at first due to the subject of the film, but the film maker did a wonderful job with it. It reminded me a bit of
The Sweet Hereafter in that it focused more on the human aspect rather than the tragic act itself. Of course I could be wrong, since it's been a while since I've seen The Sweet Hereafter. Excellent performances by all the actors.
Today was
Alatriste. Viggo showed up a good 40 mins before the film was scheduled to start, and went around signing things. I didn't bring anything for him to sign, but did manage to take some pictures (see below, all clickable). A really strange phenomenon I observed was that when Viggo appeared, the crowd waiting along the red carpet went quiet and the volume didn't increase that much even when Viggo was signing things for the fans. Speaking from my personal experience alone, all other celebs received high pitched screams to some extend.
They didn't have a Q&A session, but the director & cast went on stage briefly before the start of the movie to say a few words. David Cronenberg was in the audience (the director pointed him out), and he left with them after the movie. David was among the first ones up to give the film a standing ovation. =D
I think I still need time to absorb the movie in, but overall I enjoyed it, despite the fact that the theatre layout was horrible, and the person in front of me blocked the lower part of the screen where the subtitle is, and i pretty much watched the entire film with my head tilted sideways.
anyway, without further ado, i bring you pics:
