the obvious
Last night I discovered something that I should have known the whole time...
So, there's two weeks 'till Finncon/Animecon in Helsinki, and I thought I'd make some prints to sell there... The problem is.. or was, that I couldn't draw anything decent, everything was so boring that I didn't bother to even finish them. It was really pissing me off...
so yesterday I heard Basement Jaxx's new single from the radio. I was like "OMGGG BASEMENT JAXX!! NEW STUFF!!! I GOTTA FIND IT FROM YOUTUBE!!!" because, obviously, it was awshum! and I kept listening to it and this other song I found too, and they immediately inspired me and I started drawing. And I finished it! (well even 'tho it's a sketch, but still!) and later it hit me...
Drawings that I did earlier were lacking emotion. they were dull because I was feeling... nothing really. And that the music is what makes me feel something and what makes me see images in my head. And I was feeling kinda dumb about it, because almost every time I get inspired to draw it's because of music I listen to, and I know that. or I should know that.... >_> But recently I haven't heard that kinda music. You know the situation where you have a lot, A LOT of music, but you really don't feel like listening to any of it. I've been feeling like that lately, but Basement Jaxx saved me!!! =w=
so enough of ranting, let's see some doodlies! these are what I did earlier..:
Yeah, there's not much, which also kinda tells about the lack of inspiration. I don't feel like drawing if I don't have any ideas.. 'tho I've heard that I should just force myself to draw anything, just ANYTHING! but, well..... yeah. >_>
but then!! *dun dun duuuuun* OK this is what I listened to: SCARS
Hopefully it looks like I spent more time with this, and that I did it with PASSIONNN!!! :'D I dunno yet what to do next. Should I do this with copics, watercolors, photoshop? any ideas? I know it'll be only black, white and red, but.... BUT HOW??? oh and the new single is this: RAINDROPS
oh, yeah and these are just some doodles from earlier, too... Sum Hetalia, Derek, Sami-dude, and Vilja(+Thom)....
and my computers, Bostov and Artie (posted this to my comic blog some time ago...)
