I've done it, as of half past one this afternoon, I wrote fifty thousand words of fiction.
And then I kept going till the end of the word war, giving myself a final total:
50,387 Words
Having written so much for so long now, it is hard to find any more left to describe how I am right now. Suffice to say I am both calm and a little in shock I actually did it.
A short list of thanks:
- Nanaki and Thomas for both supporting me when I wondered around in a tea-cozy and dressing gown, whining about how I had no idea what to write next. And also leaving me be and not bothering myself while I rode on the more creative flows.
- Every one of my friends who attempted NaNo this year including my brother Jez, Gab, Fault, Orona, Sojourn, Marcellus, Axel, Masheli, Nall and anyone else I've forgotten! If you made it or not, you have my respect and love for having a try at all!
- The crowd of the #nanowrimo IRC channel for their support, BattleJesus the Word War bot, virtual cookies and discussions over our novels.
- Stealth, the Pokémorph MUSH and all my other friends who talked with me and wished me well or taunted me with possible failure *cough*Hope*cough*.
- The NaNoWriMo Podcast and WriMo Radio podcast for giving me pep-talks and keeping my ears amused during the event.
- Chris Baty for the No Plot? No Problem! book and kit, and for coming up with this crazy idea in the first place.
- And finally my main characters, the cast of Terminating Signals, Tythorn, Eyrx, John and Kairos. Sorry for all the bad prose and I hope we'll get to know each other better over the next few months as the novel improves through editing.
So with that, check out my final stats below by clicking these thumbnails and.. thanks again! :)
