Summary: In the world of social media, millions of people are online each day. And Aiba Masaki was suddenly followed on Instagram by a certain Matsumoto Jun
NOTE: Gosh. I thought I won't have the chance to post this today 'cause I only started on this yesterday (I know, that was bad.) and quit halfway and decided to post it Friday since I might hate it when I post it right away without thinking of the flow clearly. But thankfully (thanks @ the junba tag on Tumblr), I managed to get through this. I'd like to say first... I never thought that this will be a chaptered fic. This was something I just randomly typed in the waiting room of a hospital because the doctor was taking so long! (It was the day of that Junba IG photoshoot, I think. Lol) But anyway. Thanks so much for the people who followed this "trash" of mine. Haha! It was a first for me to actually finish something, and it was very fun! Anyhoo, happy birthday to Matsumoto Jun! <3 Gonna miss writing this tbh.

Random: My copy of Japonism just arrived and I'm still in shock lol have you guys got yours already? (I'm sure you have. OTL) I haven't watched the second disc of it though.

And again, thanks so much!

"MatsuJun!" A smile appeared on Masaki's face the moment he turned around and saw Matsumoto Jun standing just a few steps away from him, holding two cans of drinks. He stepped closer, doing a little wave with his hand while the model just stood there, eyeing him as if he's deep in thought; he tilted his head in confusion, arching an eyebrow at the man. "MatsuJun?"

"Coffee?" said Jun, handing over the can of coffee. Masaki thanked him then accepted the drink, opening it before taking a few cautious sips of the drink.

"Before I forget," said Masaki, walking over to a bench to place down his beverage, and then opened his bag, rummaging through its contents. Jun followed suit, arching a questioning eyebrow at the other before looking over his shoulder to see what he was doing.

"Happy Birthday," Masaki grinned, handing over a small, green paperbag with the words "Happy Birthday MatsuJun" and a smiley face written on it. Jun eyed the gift, then slowly reached over to take it. Masaki was chewing on his lower lip as he examined the younger male's expression. His mind was suddenly filled with the thoughts of Jun not liking his present, though it was impossible since he hasn't even seen it yet.

After a few seconds of silence, Jun opened the paperbag, looked at what's inside, grinned, and then looked back at Masaki before pulling him in for a hug. Though it was very quick. "I keep telling you that it's alright to just bring yourself."

Masaki smiled at him once they've pulled away. "Well, then I won't buy a present next year."

"I'm completely okay with that, as long as you meet up with me again."

"What, we're just going to meet up on our birthdays after this?" a teasing smirk appeared on Masaki's face.

Jun shrugged. "Well who knows what could happen in four months... or perhaps even in a year," he said, staring at him for a moment before turning his attention back to the present; he pulled out the Beatles badge set, examined each one before putting it back inside. "Shall we?"

Masaki can't help but laugh at the sudden English. He wasn't mocking him or anything, and he hopes the other knows that. So with a small nod, he answered, also in English: "We shall."

"What time is the party again?" asked Masaki as they walk around Ebisu. Jun told him that he's going to show him his favorite places there, starting with a cafe that "doesn't really look like a cafe".

"Well Mao, the person throwing the party, told me we should come by seven," Jun pulled out his phone for a quick moment, checked the time, then pocketed it again. "We have a few more hours to kill."

Masaki hummed in response as he looked at the different displays on each store they passed by. There was silence between them as they walked, but it felt comfortable.

"We're here," Jun announced a good ten minutes later. Masaki gawked at the cafe before looking at his friend.

"This is a cafe?" he asked, smiling. "I thought it was some sort of... house."

"I did say it doesn't really look like a cafe," Jun replied then told him to get a table outside while he orders inside. Masaki looked around the cafe and was greeting by a few employees before he could reach the door leading to the small garden outside. They were, apparently, the only customers there at the moment.

The garden outside was very beautiful, and he can't help but pull out his phone, but remembered that the battery had already died. Disappointed, he placed his phone down on the table then sat down, busying himself by looking around instead. Jun came out a few minutes later with tray in hand. Masaki got up then tried helping, but the other just told him to sit down.

"Cake?" he arched an eyebrow at him, amused and suddenly hungry. Jun nodded then took a sip of his beverage.

"The cake here is amazing," said Jun. "Try it."

Masaki thanked him for the cake before grabbing a fork, and eating some. Jun started laughing at his expression, then pointed out how he looks so shocked, so he ended up laughing as well.

"It's... different... ne?" said Masaki, trying to calm himself. "From most cakes."

"It's that great,"

"Thank you."

"Don't mention it, Masa-chan," said Jun as he took some cake. "It's you after all."

Masaki hid the forming blush on his cheeks by eating more of the cake and drinking his own beverage. Afterwards, he asked about Jun and how he became a model.

"Mao asked-more like forced-me into doing a photoshoot for her since she needed someone to partner up with another model," Jun replied. "And then the offers just started, I guess. I don't really sign for permanent companies. Too much hassle."

"Ah," Masaki nodded, then continued in a teasing tone. "Well this Mao..."

"A girlfriend? No. She's married to one of my best friends," Jun chuckled then smirked. "Why, jealous?"

"Shut up," Masaki tried to look serious, but ended up giggling. "I just thought that... because my students read these... stories about models and photographers falling in love and stuff."

Jun just stared at him, with an expression he can't read, then said, "Oh?"

"Mhm!"

"So, how did you become a teacher?" Jun asked, swirling his drink with his straw. Masaki leaned back on his chair, looked around before speaking.

"Well I was a kindergarten teacher back in Chiba, my hometown, but I got an offer here in Tokyo. And since the pay was higher... I went for it." he grinned, rubbing his nape. He felt relieved when Jun smiled again, then asked if they can take a selfie to commemorate their first time meeting. This made Masaki laugh.

"I can't believe a model is asking me to take a picture with them,"

"I'm not just any model, Aiba-san." Jun winked at him before pulling his phone out.

"Yeah, you're way better than just any model." Masaki tried winking back but failed. He wasn't the best at winking.

Jun burst in fits of laughter, so did he. "Was that a wink?!"

"Why, did it make you fall in love with me or something?" Masaki just smirked, but ended up laughing again.

"Maybe, yeah," said Jun, now in a serious tone. "But that was awful!"

"You hurt my feelings, MatsuJun," the older male pouted, pretending to sulk, but giggled, causing Jun to roll his eyes at him and then open the camera app on his phone. He pulled Masaki's chair closer (with him helping by standing up slightly), then held the camera in front of the two of them. Jun took a simple picture at first, then asked if he's alright with posing while drinking from their glasses. Masaki looked at Jun for a moment, realizing how close they were, then nodded before grabbing his glass and sipping from the straw. Jun did the same then snapped a photo of them; he gave Masaki his phone so he can snap a picture from a different angle as well, and then looked at the photos.

"You look nice," Masaki said as he stared at the photo.

"I could say the same to you," the model smiled. "Do you want me to send these to your phone?"

"Ah... the battery's dead, and I don't have a charger with me." Masaki awkwardly chuckled. "You can just post them on IG and tag me, if you want."

He asked if Jun was alright when he just stared. The other nodded, locking his phone before pocketing it. "How long has your phone been dead?"

The question confused him, but he still answered. "Uh... when I was on the train? When I last posted a photo and replied to you it was already at 1%!"

"I bet someone's gonna bring a charger over at Mao's, just borrow one, alright?"

"Alright." Masaki pursed his lips then thought of an idea. "Ne, MatsuJun, can I borrow your phone to take pictures around here?"

He thanked the model once the phone was in his hand then scurried off to the center of the garden, opening the camera app and snapping photos here and there. He could sense Jun approaching so he turned to look at him, only to hear the sound of the shutter of a camera.

"Eh-"

"That's my work phone," said Jun, his face breaking into a grin. "You looked nice so I thought I'd take a picture... but you facing the camera is okay too."

"You're like a fan of mine or something!"

"Says the one who bought a magazine just because I'm on the cover," a smirk was on the model's face now, and it made him flush so he went back to taking more pictures. Jun stepped in front of him. "Come on, just a few pictures?"

"But you're the model,"

"So? You look nothing like a high school teacher though." answered Jun with slightly furrowed eyebrows and a frown. Masaki thought that he looked rather funny, in a cute way, so in the end he agreed. He didn't pose or anything because the model kept talking to him as he took the photos; he found it weird, but the thought left his mind right away as they spoke.

"Wanna head inside? It's getting way too hot here," Jun asked afterwards. Masaki nodded then followed behind the other, who told him to go ahead as he needed to call someone first; he grabbed the tray of empty plates and glasses then bought them inside, bowing to the shop owner when he was told that he didn't need to do that. Looking around the cafe, he wondered why there weren't that much people if the drinks and food there were so delicious. He then sat down on a small couch at one corner of the cafe, looking out of the window as he waited for his friend.

So I just told him.

neenomi
And?

What a surprise. You're online.

neenomi
Shut up

I'm bored.

Anyway, Happy birthday.

Thanks.

neenomi
So what happened?

His phone died before he could read
it.

neenomi
So you told him by message?

Yeah

Damn it.

I thought he already knew when he kept
flirting back!

neenomi
You just realized now that he's flirting?

He's been flirting with you ever since

Damn it, J. I told you I'm not getting myself
involved in this again

You care about Aiba

neenomi
Hush.

He's waiting inside the cafe we're at right now

What should I do?

30 August 2016 at 5:54 PM

Ninomiya please

Help

I've been away for a long time

neenomi
You're actually asking for help?

I'm not proud of it, trust me.

neenomi
Well then.

What?

neenomi
It's pretty simple you know?

Just. Tell. Him.

I made you promise that, right?

Make a freaking move already

Fine.

Thanks.

Gotta go.

neenomi
And I thought a model like you would know
the ways about making a move. Tch.

Good luck.

Tell Masaki to bring home cake.

----

"Sorry for taking so long," Jun gently rubbed his earlobe before sitting down next to Masaki on the couch. His friend shook his head, smiled, then told him it's fine.

"Still have an hour to kill. Wanna go walk around? There's a few good places just near the studio." he asked. Though he was looking at Masaki and listening to his answers, his mind was preoccupied with different ways on how to "make a move". Hasn't he already? The only problem was that Masaki's phone died.

Masaki got up then gently pulled on the sleeves of his shirt, making him look up. "Are you okay, MatsuJun?"

"Yeah, just wondering about something." he answered before standing up as well; he grabbed Masaki's gift for him then paid for stepped close to the shop owner while Masaki was waiting for him outside.

"Thanks for letting me rent this place, Juri-san," he quickly said before heading out, with his good friend and shop owner waving at him.

"Are you having fun with me, Matsumoto-san?" Jun looked at Masaki weirdly, then chuckled.

"You're asking as if we're on a date." he said, though in the back of his mind he was hoping that it was, indeed, a date.

"Eh... there you go again."

"What do you mean?"

"Flirting."

"Well you do flirt back," Jun nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders then looked at Masaki as they walk. Last he checked the time it was almost seven, he and Masaki strolled around the park before heading to Mao's studio, which came into view after a few minutes of silence. His hand formed a fist inside his pocket, the thought of Masaki not liking him came into mind. What if he and Kazunari were only assuming everything?

"The thing is, Jun..."

"Matsumoto, there you are!" Jun can't help but curse under his breath as his friend, Toma, called out to him. The other model-slash-deejay was standing at the entrance of Mao's studio. His eyes wander to the cigarette stick on his hand, and mentally cursed at his friend for taking a cigarette break now.

"What took you so long?" Toma said, approaching the both of them. His eyes flicked over to Masaki then grinned. "You were at the club the other night, right?"

Masaki nodded, bowing his head slightly. "You were a great DJ."

"I try," Toma said then offered them a smoke. Masaki refused, which Toma understood. Though when Jun did, his friend looked at him rather suspiciously before excusing himself, telling them to go inside since everyone was there already.

"You smoke?" asked Masaki as he and Jun enter the studio. His eyes moved from Jun to the different frames on the wall, each one displaying a different model he can't help but admire. He then saw Toma and Jun's frame next to each other.

"Sometimes," the model answered. "When I'm stressed, you know?"

"Ah,"

"Does it bother you?"

"Not at all," he shook his head. "I actually smoked back then. But stopped because of my pneumothorax."

It took Jun a second before replying. "Collapsed lung?"

Masaki nodded in response before they enter the main studio. As soon as they walked in, everyone was wishing Jun a happy birthday. Jun hesitantly reached over for Masaki's hand but instead held onto his wrist for a split second, as if it's his way of telling him to follow him as they went around the room. Masaki, on the other hand, felt awkward and out of place. A room full of artists and a teacher. Still he kept on a smiling face when people greeted and introduced themselves at him.

"I'm sure you know Ohno-kun," Jun said as they now face Ohno Satoshi and a girl, who the male introduced as Ishihara Satomi, his girlfriend. Satoshi asked why they didn't bring Kazunari or Sho, but quickly changed his question to why they took so long to get there-though it was only 7:14 PM-when Jun glared at his friend from behind Masaki.

"Do you guys have a charger with you?" Jun asked the couple. Satomi grabbed her purse that sat on the couch behind her then pulled out a charger. Masaki kept thanking her before taking the charger; he gently pulled on Jun's sleeve, asking him to come with him to find an outlet. Satomi snickered at the sight then pulled Satoshi away to get some drinks.

"Have you talked to Nino?" Masaki looked at him before plugging in his phone, sighing in relief when it finally turned on. They both left it there while it charges ("No one will steal it, trust me." Jun said.) then got some drinks from a long table.

"About Nino... yeah, I talked to him this morning." Jun answered, then took a sip of his drink. Masaki did the same, enjoying the taste of the drink though alcohol was obviously mixed into it. He mentally noted not to drink too much since it's only Wednesday tomorrow.

"Jun-kun!" They both turned, facing a woman. She was, as he had guessed, Mao. It was confirmed when Jun said her name, placed down his cup on the table, then approached her, pulling her into a hug. Masaki looked down at his green cup then took a long swig of it, the thought of not drinking much, faded.

"Excuse me," Mao tapped on his shoulder. He turned towards her, bowed his head slightly as they both introduced themselves to each other.

"What company are you in?"

"Eh?"

"Mao," Jun said behind them. "Surprisingly, he's not a model."

"You've got to be kidding me," Mao said, wearing a kind smile on her face.

"Yeah... sorry," Masaki grinned, rather awkwardly. "I'm afraid I'm merely a high school teacher."

"Oh. Well excuse my rudeness, but do you mind... you and Jun-kun... to have a little shoot, now?"

He and Jun met gazes, and a blush appeared on his cheeks when Jun smirked. Masaki looked back at Mao, telling her that he's not model-material and he's not good at posing and all that, but the photographer was persistent. The other guests egging him to agree didn't help. At all.

Guess who's having a photoshoot right
now.

neenomi
What?

A friend of mine made me and Masaki
do a photoshoot

neenomi
Like a real photoshoot?

And all that stuff?

Wtf

Ninomiya

neenomi
Hahahaha

I can't believe your friend got Masaki to
agree

Well we had an audience

so she's more powerful

neenomi
She took you down?

Yeah.

Surprisingly.

neenomi
send me the pictures afterwards

Will do.

Gotta go, it's my turn to get ready.

neenomi
Aight

30 August 2016 at 8:13 PM

Anyway his phone is charging

I just hope he doesn't read my message
now

neenomi
When do you want him to?

Later.

After the shoot.

Or perhaps after the party

neenomi
I'm gonna spam him with messages

Again I'm questioning myself:

why did I not block you before?

neenomi
You need my help, idiot.

----

"You sure you're okay with this?" Jun whispered to Masaki as they stood on the backdrop. The other guests crowded around the computers while Mao fixes a few things. She typed in something then held her camera, asking them if they're ready. Jun grunted in response while Masaki just nodded. They both looked at each other, and that's when Jun noticed that Mao's stylist-that being Satomi-changed a lot on Masaki. His hair was different, and he had makeup on. Only a bit but it felt new to him. He must have looked horrified when Masaki reassured him that the dye isn't permanent, that it will wear off when he takes a hot shower.

Of course he knew that since he too had experienced that already. He even has extensions on at the moment to make his hair longer (Mao told Satomi to do so). He wanted to tell Masaki that he actually finds his new appearance nice, but Mao already started instructing them to sit on the couch near that was placed there and on what poses to do. Jun would glance over at his friend, and he was amused seeing how natural he was.

"You do know this is a party, right?" Jun asked Mao in a teasing tone. A bunch of the guests along with him and Masaki chuckled, but Mao merely pouted at him and continued taking photos.

After a few minutes, she called for a "change of set", and Masaki was surprised when he came back from being styled (his hair was now dark brown, unlike before when it was black), seeing how fast Mao and her assistants had changed the set. Jun was already there, wearing something similar to his like from the first shoot. His heart was beating awfully fast, he still wasn't sure why the woman would bother taking pictures of him.

The shoot continued moments later, and he felt more light than the first one, thanks to Jun playing around with him by quickly covering his face with his hand just before a photo was taken, and having Mao glare at the model. After the shoot, they and the other guests went back to enjoying the party. He changed back to his own clothes, though his hair color was still different than his current one. But he can't help but admit, as he looked at his reflection on the bathroom mirror, that it suits him.

"Aiba-san!" Mao called out to him as soon as he came back. His gaze went around the room, landed on Jun who was laughing with Toma and his other friends, then at Mao again; his face broke into a smile.

"Thanks so much for doing that," the photographer said, bowing. He returned the bow, telling her that he's honored to have a photo taken by a wonderful photographer like her. The woman grinned and he swore he saw a blush appear on her cheeks. She then proceeded to talking about the different magazines she has worked on, even showed her a few issues on her bookshelf.

"Eh?"

"Ah, that," Mao pulled out an old issue of an・an then showed it to him. He stared down at it for who-knows-how-long before taking it and flipping through its pages.

The one on the cover was no other than Matsumoto Jun, naked.

He knew he shouldn't be surprised since the magazine was known for such themes (he had seen a few of his students carrying it around) but to see his friend in a cover of the said magazine for the second time, this time it was so different from the magazine he had bought.

"You... took this photo?" he asked, referring to the cover and completely ignoring the contents of the magazine. It was way more erotic. Hell, he can't even focus on the woman the model was with in the magazine.

"Nope," the photographer shook her head. "I usually just buy magazines my friends are in."

"You know, I don't get why Jun-kun doesn't want to just sign under a company," she added, reaching over for the magazine and taking it from Masaki's hands before she flipped through its pages.

"He told me it's too much hassle," he answered, still in disbelief. His gaze moved from the woman in front of him to Jun again, who was at the other side of the room, and who's apparently looking at them too. A smirk appeared on the model's face, so Masaki just forced a grin.

"Excuse me, I gotta check on my phone." he bowed his head at Mao again before moving away from her, going to the small couch and grabbing his phone from the small table. It was fully charged, which was good. He furrowed his eyebrows at the numerous notifications from Kazunari, both on his posts and on their chatbox. He just read the last message, which said that he should check his messages with Jun "NOW".

So he did.

"So Mao just told me she showed you that issue..." Masaki flinched when he heard Jun's voice from behind him. The model apologized then smirked. "Were you jealous, Masa-chan?"

"That's your job!" he said in an overly-cheerful voice. His heart was beating faster than ever. Jun. Likes. Him.

He must have been staring at the other when Jun waved his hand over his face before glancing at what he was holding. The teasing smile on Jun's face faded.

"You..."

"Nino told me to."

"Fuck," Jun cursed under his breath then looked away from Masaki. "I thought he was just joking about spamming you."

"It's true then?"

"That I like you?" Jun said, looking at him again. Thankfully everyone else was busy minding their own business. "Yeah. I do. Isn't it obvious?"

"I thought you were just playing around!"

"Aiba..." the model heaved a sigh then stepped away a bit from him. "Sorry if it made you uncomfortable." he said, then added. "It's getting late. You have work tomorrow. I'll walk you to the station."

Masaki found himself agreeing, and they both approached Mao again to bid farewell. She even told him that she'll place a frame of him on her "wall", that she'll be using a solo picture of him she managed to take earlier. Masaki merely smiled before waving goodbye to everyone else and leaving the studio with Jun.

They both walked to the station in silence, and for the first time that day, everything felt awkward. He was contemplating whether he should tell Jun that he likes him back, but then again he doesn't want to sound like a high school girl. Kazunari's words kept playing in his mind, and he imagined what he would say once he finds out that he didn't say anything when what he wanted was right there already.

"Did you at least have fun? with me." Jun asked when they were already at the station. Masaki nodded, saying that he did and that he's thankful for Jun for showing him his favorite places at Ebisu.

"So... See you in December, then."

"Can't it be sooner?"

"Depends. Do you want it to be?" the model was staring at him. His eyes flicked over to the John Lennon badge the model had on the left side of his shirt, and he can't help but smile.

"Who knows? A lot can happen-"

"Don't repeat me, Masaki," Jun cut his sentence off, speaking in a stern tone. But there was also a hint of hurt. Masaki stared at him, bowed his head, then bid goodbye and a good night.

I like you too, Jun.

----

"That seat taken?" Masaki asked, placing his hand on the back of Jun's chair and motioning towards the chair in front of the model. He was staring up at him, eyebrows slightly furrowed while he held onto his phone.

"Just realized you liked me too?"

"No. Just gathered the courage to say it back," he answered with a cheeky grin before sitting down in front of him.

"You're going to miss the last train if you stay any longer,"

"I don't care. I can just stay over at your place."

"How blunt," teased Jun whilst smirking. "Not that I'm complaining. But don't you have work tomorrow?"

"I'll ask Nino to cover for me," Masaki rubbed his nape as he looked down at his lap, suddenly feeling shy.

"So... you really... liked me?"

"What's with the past tense?" he asked, now looking at the model. "I like you. Yeah. I would have said it sooner but Ikuta-san cut me off."

"Well I gotta say, you scared me back there."

"I was just trying to make a dramatic gesture," Masaki said, laughed, then added. "Just kidding."

"You really are something, Masa-chan."

"I could say the same to you, MatsuJun." He tried winking, but ended up failing, making the both of them laugh.
