We went to a fall Cedar Park festival that was free and interesting.

There was a Trinidad/ Calypso music theme, and various food booths, and over-priced craft booths, however the highlight was eating cold nachos while watching an all white Calypso band playing HORRIBLE music. It was like watching several Stud Mackenzies in Hawaiian shirts play Calypso music. The lead singer kept saying "We like to see dancers, come on and dance!" There were two children playing with hula hoops, and jumping in place. Everyone else either just sitting there or laughing or staring. I had a blast. I was truly enjoying myself, and thinking how utterly interesting everyday people are. Characters everywhere you look. It was great research!

The festival was fun for Gabriel, and then we went to a cute park next to the Cedar Park library.

Yesterday, we went to church, and then to a family friend's beautiful house off of 2222, and Mopac. A lovely house built in the forties in this awesome neighborhood with incredible views. Her house was stunning! Her backyard was mecca to Gabriel, running down and up slopes, and discovering sticks, and rocks to either throw at Shawn, or me.

Now, Gabriel is at Mother's day out, and I must continue my job search, and daydream about a trip to Vancouver.
Yes, I must go back to work full time. Part time ESL teaching at nights ain't cutting it.
