la vita è bella

Quite a lot has been happening in the world of me.  Cars, boys, fires, music *- sounds like a fantastic film.  In general life has seemed hectic, but I am at one of the happiest places in my existence.

Past:
Well, I had my doubts about myself deferring from uni...well actually, it's not that I ever doubted myself deferring, it was more I doubted whether I could organise everything else that goes with deferring.  Today I found out that if I'm only taking 6 months off study, I don't really need to defer or tell the uni anything...which I thought was fantastic - although a little bit stupid, but hey - I'm not really complaining!

Not being a student also had implications on my home; it's student housing, so technically, I should move, but that panned out rather fantastically.  My legend of a landlord said he had absolutely no problem with me staying on at my current address.  So, there is a god afterall.  I'm so fucking stoked about it.

Lastnight, played a gig at the Cavern club, which, considering circumstances, was good.  We had a fill in drummer, who is a great bloke, but we had only two proper rehearsals through the set with every one there; one about a month ago and the second was about...oh, an hour before load in.  Surprisingly, it went fairly smoothly and was an overall good night.  I got told off by our guitarist for lifting the amps up when loading the gear in, which made me a bit cranky; I was just trying to help and I'm not some helpless little princess girl scared of breaking a nail.  What has made me more cranky is that I have woken up with a very stiff back.  I hate it - absolutely hate it - when other people are right.

Present:
Tonight I am catching up with an old friend who is moving away on Monday.  I believe the itinery is fish and chips (who can resist anything deep fried?) and then going out for booze; sounds good to me.  I'm not sure if I'm up for excessive drinking; I had 1 schooner and 1 pint of beer lastnight and I was pretty happy.  Not as happy as one of the guys I was talking to lastnight after we had played though.  I do believe there are times when a raincoat would be handy; I got completely covered in spit as he was talking to me.  More importantly, I do have to open up work tomorrow morning and it's the first time I've done an open.  We shall see.

Future:
I am going to Melbourne to catch up with top bloke.  I am looking forward to it...and a little bit, I guess the word would be, nervous?

*Cars: mine has died and no longer goes.
Boys: boys in the band, and boy in Vic.
Fires: lit farts, thankyou boys in the band.
Music: band, band, band.
