Now I stand at the foot of the hill...
Well... I am back at WVU!!! The first week of classes are over and the second has begun. I think it is going well so far... just a bunch of homework... and the constant feeling that I am behind... no matter how late I stay up doing work. But... such is life! I know I am not the only one with this problem... seems everyone in accounting is feeling the same way.
Last night we had a meet the firms night. That was really nerve racking for me... I had no idea what to say to the reps. They brought in the big 4, some other smaller national firms and some local firms. I got my name in with the big 4 (of course... everyone wants to work for them) but... one of the reps from Ernest and Young is from Nitro. Definitely a huge plus for me... but... like I have a chance. I just have to connect with him long enough so that he remembers me when I graduate MPA. I also met a couple MPAs ready to graduate which is really great because I have a ton of questions about the program... and you always get better answers from your peers... not to mention the ever present "NETWORKING VALUE." You never know when one of them will be working for a firm that I want to work for. I had dinner tonight with a couple people that I met last night and a couple of people I knew from class.
Well on to more exciting things in my life... Fall Fest was last monday... I really did not like most of the bands playing except TRAPT. I am absolutely in love with them... I want to go to another show of theirs where there are not party hoes bitching while waiting for Kanye West. Fuel was not bad... but... I did not know any of their songs and the lead singer was weird. Friday went to see <3 DP <3. That was really great because it was the first show that I had been to where they played longer than one hour. FINALLY... got to meet two of them... Derek and Nik!!! THANKS LP!!! Did not get to meet Andy :( but... hey two is better than zero!
