DISTORTED PENGUIN PICS
I thought I better get these up while I was at home for the weekend since my computer decided to be cool and all (the internet on my computer no longer works (... WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?!?).
The trip began one warm, rainy spring day in April. Amanda and Nicole load into Amanda YELLOW MUSTANG =) to travel to Frostburg, MD to see the greatest band in the world play (NO, not N*SYNC, I could only be speaking of the <3 Distorted Penguins <3). Nicole reads the directions, which are a little confusing, but the two of them stumble upon S. Water Street somehow. They drive and look at all the old buildings and think aloud to each other this MUST be the wrong street. The buildings look like no one has been in them in decades, in fact the WHOLE town kind of looked like that. They thought they were from a small town but… they thought wrong. They continue to drive around the block a couple of times looking for a place where <3 Distorted Penguins <3 might play… no such luck. It is the about the 10th time around when Amanda notices she needs to get some gas. There is just one problem neither Nicole nor Amanda remember passing a gas station. They spot a
and decide to ask where one is.
The friendly worker informed them that the ONLY ONE in town was just a couple blocks away. (P.S. It is not the same place where the 7-11 is.) So Amanda and Nicole decide to drive down S. Water Street again and see if they can find where the <3 Distorted Penguins <3 are going to play; no success. So of course two FAT GIRLS (I LOVE FGC) have got to eat and pull into a local Dominoes and order a pizza. 45 minutes later they get their food. In a frantic rush because they thought the show was starting at 6:00 (it was 10 till 6), and still did not know where the place was they grab their food and chow down in the car. Amanda turns on to S. Water St. and it was then that Amanda and Nicole received their first glimmer of hope, the <3 Distorted Penguins’ <3 bus. There was only one problem the band was there but no one else was. They both thought, “Surely we can not be the only ones coming to see the <3 Distorted Penguins <3, can we?” So, they drive around one more time to see if anyone shows up, of course, no one does. They drive over to the little grocery store again, pick some things up and get change to park. They drive around again and 2 people are walking over but… no one else was there. So they begin to think of a list of people who could look up on the internet what time the show start. Amanda decides to call her last resort, MICHAEL. Michael informs them the show actually starts at 6:30. It is then that Amanda and Nicole decide they have to pee. Of course, in a small town there are NO public restrooms. Nicole finds a Methodist church, thinks to herself I am Methodist, so we can use the restroom

So, they do… but not without running into a man in the bathroom (scariest moment of my life!). They begin to walk over to the show but there are all these people and Nicole and Amanda begin to feel slightly out of place. So, they just keep walking back and forth looking for the entrance. They get the bright idea to hide behind a wall and spy on people, that way they did not look stupid (little did they know it was too late for that) to find out were they are going in at. AT LAST Amanda and Nicole find the entrance to the building. Amanda and Nicole saw the <3 Distorted Penguins <3 show at last.
