Okay, so there really isn't any such thing as a healthy homemade cookie that is also tasty, but there is a such thing as a healthier cookie. That's what I am going for here with a tweaked Martha Stewart recipe.
Ingredients
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
2-4 tbs plum syrup or jam (I used 2 and it was a very faint taste)
1/2 cup no sugar added apple sauce
1/3 cup oil of your choice
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup oats
Optional: 1/2 cup raisins
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix ingredients together, dollop large spoonfulls onto a greased cookie sheet an inch apart. Bake 10-15 minutes. Allow to cool on pan for 5 minutes, then move to cooling rack. (By the way, don't use foil, like I did, it will stick to the cookies)
