Visitante!
yay! jenny is visiting! She's going to be here for two weeks. I'm pretty excited. In order to un-jet-lag-ify her I dragged her to school. Putting an engineer in front of a class of 2nd graders was kind of fun. ; )
We're heading to Barcelona this weekend and Granada next weekend. : )

Good teaching week
This week has been a good teaching week on all accounts. I've been amused with my classes. 2nd grade science is doing animals which is fun. Most of the classes have been relatively calm. My class for the teachers yesterday went well. We talked about traffic patterns and roundabouts and driving and other random things. Again I ended up laughing a lot. My system works well, I don't prepare anything. We talk about completely random topics. They say it was really useful for them for practicing English. Works for me.

I had my private class/tutoring with Ana today. Somehow we are able to find a ton of things to talk about. I've had 4 one hour lessons with her and it's all just chatting about random things. Today was trips/vacations. And the bilingual program at her school. And how the activities in her English book are crap and how she doesn't learn useful everyday things. Her older sister has gone to England the past 3 summers, and Ana wants to go this summer, but her dad said she won't be able to if her English isn't good enough. So she's motivated. AND it gives me a goal in helping her. So we're going to go over useful everyday vocabulary, like food, as well as things for traveling, like things at the airport and asking for directions. I'm pretty excited about it, it's always so much easier to teach someone who is self-motivated. And I get 15 euro an hour? Being is a hot commodity around here, it's ridiculous.

Good Spanish day
Today was also a good Spanish day where I was spitting things out relatively effortlessly. Since it was going well, I called my host mom in Granada to tell her I'll be in town next weekend. She was glad I called, actually saying if I came to Granada without seeing her, she'd kill me. Haha. ANd she told me I speak Spanish very well. We'll see if the words come to me as well that weekend...
I was starting to get worried that I had been recently inundated with too much English. I spoke English all the time over break, I'm speaking English with Jenny now. But all in all, I realized I've learned a ton (I can use the present and even now the past subjunctive...that still blows my mind.), and still have months left to improve even more. Excellent.
