Ah, to be completely honest, given the circumstances, I don't think it's feasible to go to it. If you have no money and are in a tight financial situation as it is, it's probably going to be difficult to scrounge up the money.

However, as for the job: "next to nobody wants to hire a 14 year old" isn't completely true. I mean, it's cheap labor. Have you actually asked around to get a job? Work at the library, or a coffee shop--I think the one down near me is hiring anyway. Just because you may not think you're good at the skills now doesn't mean anything, you can learn. You're good at learning, silly xD

Also, minimum wage is $7.25. You can work three hours on a school day, and eight on a non school day. As a total, on a non-school week, you can work up to 40 hours a week, and since you're going to be working in the summer that's the figure you want to pay attention to. Do the math, 7.25 x 40 is $290. If you worked for just three weeks in the summer, you'll have more than enough money. If you get a job and ask your parents to front the money so you can register, and then pay them back, maybe that'd be your best option.

OR. OR YOU COULD BE AWESOME WITH ME AND WE COULD GET A JOB TOGETHER, MAN. TOGETHER.

Now, as for actually going to the convention. It's, ah, across the country, it's probably an impractical idea right now just because it's coming up soon and you haven't made any previous plans. Not to be a damper on the parade or anything. Besides, have you asked Larissa if she can go? If you don't know if she can go and you only really want to go if she does... you probably should ask her first.

Conventions of this sort are usually held more than once, though. Is this a yearly convention?

Ahhh, but you have forgotten about the lovely thing we call "taxes". THE GOVERNMENT WANTS MAH MONEY -shot- Haha, kidding. I think I'd still have enough after taxes, but I might have to dip into my own pocket.

Em, I don't know if there'll be one next year; possibly, but the guys who came with the idea were sort of like "HEY WOULDN'T IT BE COOL IF WE HAD A YOUTUBE CONVENTION" and then they did. XD

Well, I mean, even so, with taxes you'd still have just enough money xD If you run just a little bit short, you may be able to ask your parents for help (like, $40 out of $700... yeah, that's a little more affordable).

Oh dude inorite. Maybe Borders, but I dunno whether they're hiring or not. Barnes & Noble? Gamestop? Some kind of geeky store of the sort that isn't too far away. I could walk to something like Kmart after school, but you wouldn't be able to and what's the fun if you're not there--

My mom picks me up at the middle school every day, if my dad doesn't pick me up at my school. We could go on something like that, but obviously we'd need the job first xD

Well, there's always hope~ if it's popular enough, it may come back again.

Ohhh, are you talking about the little seafood cafe? They were looking for an experienced cashier a while ago, but that's probably been filled by now. xD

IT'S NOT MY FAULT I'VE BEEN SICK UFUFU though I guess I could've called her x'D

I'd be quite happy with a book store because I.. like books, and I go to both stores pretty often, so I know where stuff is. The only problem I'd see with Gamestop is the stores are pretty small. They only have, like, 2 people there every time I've come in, and I don't think they'll let just the two of us run the entire store xD;;
