Hmmmm, what to talk about today... Oh! I know! Why don't I tell you all about THE FACT THAT I MET JOHN MOTHERFIRETRUCKING GREEN TODAY.
First things first; earlier today I went to the doctor's and had some blood drawn. D: The lady that took it was really nice, actually. :3 It wasn't too bad I guess. My arm's a bit sore though.
So anyway, we leave my house a little late, because I had to finish my drawings, so I had to eat in the car. The car was low on oil, so we had to stop and get that fixed.
We arrive about ten minutes late, and there are a shit ton of people. Like, literally, hundreds. So many, in fact, that I can't hear a word John's saying. The crowd will laugh, but I have no idea at what. After circling the store several times, there is seemingly no way in through the wall of people. That is, until my mom brings me around to the back entrance of the store. I can only see the back of John, (and teh puff! teh puff!! 8D) but I hear him much better. He's gotten through all of his speech, and they've moved on to Q&A, but I only hear the A. I don't know why they didn't have some kind of microphone.. :/ My mom was actually talking with David Levithan's sister in law at the back door. Apparently they were going to go to dinner, but no one was expecting such a huge turnout.
After that, it's time for the actual signing. They dismiss everyone by row, but since I'm all the way in the back, I get to wait in line....all the way in the back. For an hour and twenty minutes. I was kind of lonely; I really should've had Larissa come. (D:)
I finally get up to the table and it's like 9 o'clock. Everyone's tired, David is tweeting something on his cell phone, but they're still cool enough guys to say "thanks for waiting, really appreciate it," etc.
John: Hi! 8D
me: -dying- Uh, hi. -pulls out drawings- Um, this is for you.
John: This is awesome! -marvels-
David: -peeps over at drawing-
Me: ...and if you could possibly get this to Hank, it'd be appreciated. -hands over other drawing-
John: Yeah, totally! -looks at Hank's- Thanks so much; these are really awesome! -stares a little longer- I own that shirt!
Me: Yeah, it's from the "What could you do with a Poe bust?" video. (I actually sang it. XD)
John: -laughs- Oh, yeah!
-signing commences-
John: We really appreciate you standing in line for so long.
Me: Oh, God, it's not problem for you guys.
John: -grins-
-akward silence; I've run out of things to say and he's busy signing-
John: -squints at my copy of "An Abundance of Katherines"- Wait, this was for you, right? (I'd only put the sticker with my name on it in Looking for Alaska)
Me: Oh, yeah, that's fine.
John: -incredibly relieved- Whew! -runs hand through puff-
Store Clerk/Assistant: -hands me books-
Me: Thanks so much! ^_^
John: Thanks so much for coming; it was nice to meet you! And thanks for the drawings!
David: Thanks for coming!
Me: Thank you!
As mum and I were walking out the door, I turned to her and was like "TOTALLY WORTH IT. MOST DEFINATELY WORTH IT."
And it was. :3
