Good Morning, World.
Barack Hussein Obama has been elected to be the 44th president of the United States of America.
I've had this blog through most of the Bush administration and expressed my discontent through each election. I just want to express that for once, in the last eight years, do I feel settled. I no longer feel anxiety, fear, worry, distress, or unease at our position in the world. Our rights will be slowly returned to us, our foreign relations will be patched, our economy will suffer for a while, but I do not fear for privatization of Social Security, or my ability to ever retire. I no longer believe in my heart that the U.S. will see its downfall in my life and for the first time, I feel as though I actually know the person leading the most advanced country in the world. I am proud, for the first time in a very long time, to call myself an American. To the world, I am sorry, but now, please forgive us. For the first time since the Clinton Administration we will look to our own streets and our own problems and we will have a president with the capacity, the humility, and the intelligence, to lead us back on the road to success. I'm not saying it's going to be easy. I'm not saying it's going to be fast. But I believe in Barack Obama and I believe that he will do everything in his power to save this failing nation.
Thank you, voters. Thank you.
Nicole
