I may sound cheesy but I'm gonna put it out there... I love buying Christmas gifts from
http://www.therainforestsite.com. With all of my purchases, I just saved 10,300 square feet of rainforest! Yay! It also allows me to support fair trade groups around the world. I bought items from FT in Ghana, Nepal, India, Vietnam, and Guatemala. All the items I chose are made with recycled goods or organic fibers and dyes. Purchasing these fair trade items keep those women in business and off the streets. It gives them an income and allows them to take care of their families. Plus, the special that was running during the time of my order allowed one US family to be fed and toys donated. I don't get to donate money to organizations that I really care about or volunteer or help out world wide like I want to, due to lack of time, money, and too many responsibilities. Stuff like this makes me feel like I am doing something, giving back and utilizing that holiday spirit. And how am I going to wrap my green gifts? In reusable shopping bags of course. :) They are SO much cheaper than gift bags anyway, Shopping bag= ~$1, Gift bag= ~$5.
